Too much surveillance
32 ft Class A · Group trip
My family of four stayed for Thanksgiving. It is a peaceful, beautiful location. I was a bit shocked to see there was a house in the center, feet from the RV pad , that was not in the description or photos. It was empty, but unexpected. The property had surveillance cameras. Not pointed at the house or valuables (kayaks, bikes) but at all of the "camping" locations (fire pit, picnic tables and directly at our RV from feet away). We could not open the RV curtains because the cameras were feet away pointed at it. Anywhere we were, we were being potentially watched and listened to. There were also very bright motion lights all throughout the yard, which go on even while sitting at the fire. There is a flood light which shines on the RV pad all night. I suppose some people may appreciate the lighting, but it certainly took away the camping feel for me. None of the 5 bikes worked but we had tools and lubricant and got 2 running. Even with the air pump, the other 3 had flat tires. It is also important to note the rivers, which are stunning, are far enough away (a mile or more)that you need a truck or roof rack to get the kayaks there. Overall we had a great time on the river, but our time at the site felt like being in a fishbowl.
