This property is called relic ranch because we have actually found a ton of old relics. the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest. there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore. also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.Welcome Y'all!! Here at North Shore Relic Ranch, we are minutes from wekiva springs and rock springs. Plus this is home to our 11 cool cows 5 adult goats 4 baby's and about 50 crazy chickens, which you can interact with. A little bit of something for everyone. We have some interesting vehicles on the property to check out. There are also miles of marked nature trails next to the camp sites. Lake Apopka and canals to kayak on, are only 800 feet away, and there is a 15 mile free nature drive just minutes away. Or just relax and camp/explore! (Tents available for rent, we also have 2 horse stalls for rent, so you can bring your horse to ride the trails)There are different areas around the property where you can camp. A very laid back, chill vibe. Campsite areas are quite vast, so privacy should be of no concern! Fishing is allowed on our property and next door there are state owned hiking trails and canals to fish & kayak on. Plus a boat ramp to launch with restrooms. Campers are asked not to enter/loiter around the 2 private residences, please respect privacy. (but have no concern, there is absolutely plenty of room to wander the camp area and explore!!) There is lots of wildlife so bring the camera, and not only wildlife, our farm animals are huge hams when it comes to pictures (no pun intended, lol) Fire wood/Water/ Soft drinks/ Snacks available to purchase.

Fantastic Primitive Camping

This was a fantastic camp site. Very private location surround by vegetation so that other campers were not readily visible, and each site had a fire ring and a picnic table or table and chairs. There are 2 port-o-potties near the entrance (so a short walk) and were very clean. It's also a short (0.2 mile) walk from the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. There is a great wilderness and well shaded 2.6 mile hike and a 20+ mile loop next to/near the lakes edge (no shade for that though) and a driving tour you can do through the park. We will absolutely be camping here again.

I loved our stay. View was amazing, the animals were kind and the atmosphere was just perfect for camping. I STRONGLY! Recommend the eggs. James was extremely kind and overall a great host. He provided us with a helpful map and it had clean restrooms pretty much everywhere. Definitely will be staying again!

Peaceful. Wonderful location. Much to explore. The hosts are very attentive and kind people. Kids loved to explore the woods. It was awesome. Plus we got to feed the animals on the farm. Will recommend and come back.

Disappointing

We were really disappointed in our stay at this campsite. Honestly if we didn’t have kids with us who were looking forward to the trip, we would have left on arrival. I have spent a lot of time looking through previous reviews trying to understand how our stay seemed so different from other reviews and photos and it almost seems like we were in a different place. This campsite was littered with unsightly junk. The owners own a junkyard next door, and there were old port a potties, a tire, a large gas lamp, as well as other unsightly things that were in the empty field you look out on. If you went back in the woods there were full trash cans that were not emptied. There were no activities as described. There were no farm animals to interact with, there were no evident walkable trails on property, and any hiking, kayaking, or fishing require you to drive to it. Potable water was not available on the campsite. It was delivered to us on the first day. It was in a 5 gallon jug. There were 7 of us and we were there for 3 nights. We reached out on day 3 asking for more and were asked to go to the owner’s personal property to retrieve it with a hose. The owner’s property was not inviting, so we elected to go to Publix instead. Overall, the campsites are private and large. It seems like maybe this was once a very pretty place, but everything seems to be overgrown and neglected. I would manage your expectations.

Quiet. Exactly as described. Pretty wet after the hurricanes a few months ago…so skeeters were active but with some spray it’s not bad. Nice fire pits too!!
