Great Little Getaway In Town
If someone told me that I'd find a ranch that's also a campground, close to the middle of Lakeland, I'd have a hard time believing them. I booked a single night here as a birthday present for my fiancé, but I wished I had booked at least 2! We didn't have enough time to explore all the trails, but we had plenty of fun with the time we did get.
Definitely a place for people who love being around animals! As it is a semi free-range ranch, be prepared for horses, longhorns, and goats out and about. We purchased bags of feed, so we had plenty of fun hand-feeding the goats and horses. Can't wait to go back again!
Also they have day passes, so I plan on going and getting some of that grass-fed beef from the country store and grilling some meat on-site next time! The London Broil we brought home was a beautiful 2lbs cut and I wish we had stayed an extra day to have cooked it over the campfire.

We loved the view of the water from our RV site with full hookup. The free roaming animals were wonderful. We did lots of exploring and resting at this wonderful place. We will be back!

I recently stayed at Wilderness Shores Ranch and Campground camping site and was very pleased. The nature is stunning, and the camping spots are comfortable and clean. It’s great for families with kids — there is a playground and plenty of activities. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. We will definitely come back!

Shoreline Tent Camping
First time visitors
This was a wonderful peaceful place to escape and unplug. I visited Wilderness Shores with my family and it was just the escape we needed.
Thomas was welcoming and warm. His kindness resonated throughout our whole stay. He guided us to our campsite and provided us with wood, marshmallows and the feed for the goats and horses.
We walked all around and explored the beauty this place holds. We saw gators both large and small, horses, fish, wild birds and plenty of goats. We can’t wait to visit again possibly in the cooler months and of course visit our good ole pal Thomas.
This may be our new secret getaway when real life needs a time out.

Perfect Family Getaway!
We had an amazing stay at Wilderness Shores! This campground is an absolute paradise for families and animal lovers alike. Every time we stepped out of our camper, we were greeted by friendly animals – horses, cows, and goats roaming freely. Our kids were thrilled, and our golden retriever had a blast making new animal friends.
Wilderness Shores offers a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. The daily Longhorn cattle drives were a highlight, and we loved feeding the cows and petting the adorable Nigerian Dwarf goats. The lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and exploring the islands. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
The people who run Wilderness Shores are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home and were always available to help with anything we needed. It’s also a veteran-friendly campground, which made us appreciate our stay even more.
The campsite is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and safe stay, including private bathrooms, picnic tables, firepits, and charcoal grills. The entire area feels very self-contained, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time without any worries.
We highly recommend Wilderness Shores for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable camping experience. We will definitely be coming back!
