70 acres adjoining the Shawnee National Forest area with hiking trails and water activities. Close to Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock, Pounds Hollow, Belle Smith Springs, Lusk Creek and other trails. Cabin-2BR -1 Q, 1 K/1BA sleeps 4- possible 5, with Heating/ac, full kitchen with microwave and refrigerator, coffee pot, grill, laundry, NO INTERNET. Kitchen is stocked with coffee, creamer, sugar, cooking oil. Large great room, with native sandstone fireplace and nice views of private lake and hills.. Fire pit. Free firewood. $85.00 per night, $60.00 cleaning fee Primitive tent camping sites available. RV pads for self-contained campers . One Electric space available with notice. Water available from spigot and hose. No sewer. Porta-Potty on premises. No showers. Shade or sunny areas. Pets and service dogs welcome with reservations. Must be dog friendly (owner has 5 Irish Wolfhounds, and one small mix breed that runs the place). Dogs must have proof of vaccinations. Creeks, hills, hiking trails, and private pond full of bluegill, crappie, and bass. Kayaks, paddleboards canoe and boat. NO lifeguard on duty. Life preservers/jackets must be worn when around the pond. All above activities are done at your own risk, children must be supervised.

Lovely quiet spot with great hosts
Really great under the radar spot. Fantastic hiking spots nearby. Great country roads for running directly across the main road. Beautiful view, and the hosts are the salt of the earth! Can't wait to drop by again!

Sonny Hills camp
I had a wonderful time at Sonny Hills despite having some chronic issues flare up. The front part of the property is meticulously maintained, with lots of relaxing trails to meander on. Unfortunately, I had to retreat to a hotel and Jennifer was so kind making sure I was alright. If I am ever in the area again, I would love to explore their camp more.

June 2024 Review
The accommodations were amazing! We had a lot of peace and quiet, plenty of privacy, and were able to decompress from the stress of daily life out in nature. We will be returning the future and explore more trails around the Garden of the Gods. :)

Great property with great hosts!
We had a great time tent camping at Sonny Hills! The property was very beautiful and we made sure to take a dip in their peaceful lake. The location was easy to find and close to all the great hiking trails in the area. Jennifer and John were so kind and hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed, including providing firewood and a fire ring. When the weather turned very bad, they opened their guest cabin to us to keep us safe and dry. Wonderful people and a wonderful property!

Quiet property with great hosts!
The directions were clear and the property was easy to find. The site was better than described and the hosts were very accommodating. An awesome set up for nearly all campers.
