Since 2003 the land has been home to people, horses, dogs, chickens and ducks, a hay field and fruit, vegetable, and flower gardens. Enjoy the country atmosphere in driving proximity to Indianapolis amenities. A great place for a unique getaway. Check out all of our baked goods, soaps and other offerings on the Havendell Farm and Wayside Facebook and instagram pages. A couple days per week from mid-March to Mid-December, the almost 20 acre property hosts a not for profit children’s physical therapy program called, “TheraTails and Learning Trails”. This program has been taking place at the farm since 2006 serving children with various physical therapy needs. The farm has a short nature trail with a wood chipped path. Visitors may go on foot or use their own bicycles or golf cart to ride the perimeter of the property or the mowed paths. Our location is convenient to county roads for foot or bicycle touring. Located just 20-30 minutes from the Indianapolis International Airport, downtown Indianapolis, the Indianapolis 500, drag racing, state parks, horseback riding, and numerous small town fairs, The Covered Bridge Festival, and farmers markets. Easy access to I-74, fuel, eating establishments, groceries, gyms, a water park and the McCloud Nature Center. Come stay at Daves Country Gem, and get a taste of rural living.

Car camping
Lovely property, wonderful hosts. This place was perfect place to park and camp in my SUV setup while participating in an event in Indy with my dogs. The bathroom setup, though it’s a port-potty, was extremely clean with thoughtful privacy and hand washing area. I just stayed one night. Convenient and quiet. Be aware that fireworks can be heard from somewhere in the area if you’re camping with a sensitive pet around the “fireworks holidays”.

30 Amp Wayside
Pleasant spot
Pleasant people. Almost perfectly level gravel site. 30 amp power is a distance away, but the host generously provided a heavy duty extension cord, so we could run the air conditioner all night in the hot and humid weather. Long gravel driveway is pretty rough, so we took it slow. Barely saw the horses and ponies (not an issue), but the good news is we didn't smell them, either. Got a good night's sleep, with no traffic or other noise. Thank you for a perfect stopover!

Perfect camping nights….
It was a gorgeous site!! The sunsets over the willow trees were everything. Each night was super quiet. Dave came and greeted me warmly and I slept so well there. I would definitely stay at Havendell Farm again. Thank you!

We had a great picnic supper with a view of several horses and a lovely field. His "wash station" was clean and had the necessary items!

Tent Camping Wayside 2
Nice site, good location! Host was accommodating to us needing a site when the others were booked. A fun weekend was had! Sites are rather close to hosts home and others camping, in the event that you are seeking something more remote and away from neighbors.

The views were beautiful. I do wish we weren’t so close to the other campers, but there than that, felt safe, satisfactory, and having a porter potty was very helpful!
