Nice, secluded tent site.
This spot is lovely and secluded and the hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating. I arrived near dark, so they provided a large light to help me set up my tent. They also provided firewood and kindling, as well as an extra lantern.
A few things to note:
- this campsite is in a forested area and the creepy crawlies do make their presence known at night. I very quickly noticed many wolf spiders and grasshoppers. However, during the day time, the bugs were not nearly as bad.
- the tent site is up a short, but steep trail. I took a few trips and had no problem going up and down, even in the dark, but it is important to note it’s not a drive-up site.
- the compost toilet is very nice! I know compost toilets can be daunting to some, but this one was very clean and easy to use. I did not use the shower, but it also appeared very nice. The bathhouse is a short walk from the tent site.
I enjoyed my quick 1-night stay and the hosts at this site - it’s clear they love their land.
