PARKING IS BESIDE THE TENT SITES AT GOOSE PARADISE, FROG NOOK, RABBIT RUN, and DUCK HILL. SHORT HIKES INTO THE WOODS: BEAR HOLLOW AND SQUIRREL HIDEAWAY. BOBCAT ISLAND IS A SHORT HIKE ACROSS A BRIDGE. (These three locations would require you to carry your camping gear to the site). This is a working, solar powered homestead, totally off-grid with chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. Available to you is fresh eggs, greenhouse vegetables and garden vegetables that you pick yourself to enjoy while you are here. There is an Artesian spring-fed 2 acre pond for fishing (catch and release only). Semi secluded tent sites are not very far from an outhouse furnished with flush toilet and a sink with fresh running water. All tent sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Enjoy hiking trails or forge off into the woods to explore on this beautiful 25 acre homestead. Sit and relax by the pond while watching for beavers, raccoons, blue heron and even eagles! Listen to the babbling of the Artisian spring where the ice cold water is pumped to the homestead by solar power. Blueberries, wild strawberries and blackberries are fun to look for and eat. Enjoy the cool nights while star gazing, watching fireflies and listening to the frogs and owls. Watch the operation of a working sawmill, learn to tie flies and how to fly fish. In the future there will be blacksmithing demos and classes, art (painting) classes and nature photography classes. There will be a nominal fee for classes. Only minutes away is Home Depot, Walmart, restaurants, shopping, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, antique shops, Historic Downtown Ellsworth and the OCEAN!!

Most Excellent HipCamp❤️😊
Mike and cheryl’s serendipity camp is amazing! Mike ihas worked very hard to put down wood chips and signage and it is the best bathroom at a Hipcamp that I have had so far. everything is really clean and thoughtful throughout the camp. Mike was super nice. We didn’t really get a chance to meet cheryl but we will be back and I hope to meet her then! We made egg sandwiches with the eggs and they were delicious. We also had great weather so that helped!

Goose Paradise
Really enjoyed camping here. The frogs definitely come to life at night, but that's part of the camping experience. We loved the canoe and swing set. Beware of lots of goose doo doo as well. Overall, fun camping experience.

Bobcat Island
The most special spot and the loveliest of hosts. Our children could be children and we felt like adopted grandchildren. Truly a magical experience.

Duck Hill
Duck pond
Duck pound was excellent. Mike and Cheryl did a terrific job with the property. No need to bring firewood, they have plenty for $5 a bundle. Highly recommend their private campground if you are looking to explore Acadia but don’t won’t to be near all the tourists at night.

Goose Paradise
Great host. Michael was very friendly and enjoyed telling me about the property and it's history. Nice spot, although frogs can be noisy. Well maintained and cared for. Great central location for enjoying both Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor to the south, and the Schoodic region to the east. I started using HipCamp last year, have stayed at two different hosted camping areas so far (first was Porcupine Creek in Liberty, Maine) and have not been disappointed. HipCamp has become my go-too place now for finding camping locations.
