Hilltop Camp 1
Camping near trail 2 PawPaw tunnel
My husband, young daughter, and I loved camping at this site. It had a well marked path that led to the hiking loop to PawPaw tunnel and a lovely little picnic area with a clean porta potty. There were two comfortable chairs and a table by the fire pit, available firewood, and privacy.
The host was responsive and easy to communicate with. We were not bothered during our stay. We look forward to coming back!
PS. A couple of good to knows (1) As the host description says, you def need a sturdy vehicle to get up the hill or be ready to hike a fairly steep hill with your gear. (2) The first night that we were there we heard a few trains passing through the town as well as dogs barking. The second night was quieter.

Potomac View
Came here with my daughter and a friend and stayed at Potomac View site. Lots of room for kids to run around and explore and the Paw Paw tunnel close by was a good distraction for half the day. More of a car camping setup and better for stargazing than the other site which is a short walk up the hill. We came on a new moon weekend and skies were super clear. Could just barely see the Milky Way with my naked eye but got excellent pics with long exposure settings on iPhone. Overall I would recommend this site. There were limited choices as far as flat spots to set up tent but the free and plentiful firewood, water jug with pump, clear open skies and price more than made up for this.

Great fun with our toddler & dog
This place is fantastic! Peaceful and pretty quiet. On the edge of a small hill/ridge, the campsite is nestled into the trees with enough space for tents. SUV drives up without issue. Host was responsive and helpful. We’ll be back!

A great place to pitch a few tents near the trail to the Paw Paw Tunnel. Had a great time. Tim was prompt and helpful when we went to leave and needed a jumpstart.

Hilltop Camp 1
A really great camp trip for our family. Hiking the hill with our great was no joke, but worth it. Nice site with A LOT of wood available to burn. We did the hike to the Paw Paw tunnel and it was really neat! I recommend.
