We are an 8.5 acre sustainable vegetable farm growing a wide variety of produce and herbs. We also have a flock of laying hens living on pasture, two alpaca guardian animals, two dogs, one barn cat, and honeybees. The land consists of rolling hills, and borders Gunpowder Falls State Park. Outdoor recreational opportunities abound: * Bike along the 19.7 mile Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail * Hike along the Big Gunpowder River to the Prettyboy Reservoir Dam * Take a refreshing (read: cold) dip and jump off the rock at Hillbilly Beach * Go fly fishing for trout in a 7-mile stretch of gorgeous top-tier tailwater * Rent tubes and enjoy a cold beverage as you float down the river * Bring your own kayak or canoe to spend a lazy afternoon at Prettyboy Reservoir * Grab a brew or a glass of wine at one of our local breweries or vineyards. Please note: our farm has potable water available. Our well is solar-powered, so running water and toilet flushing is only available during the daylight hours. We provide water jugs for after dark. This site is located in a flat area next to our historic barn. You can park your van or RV on the driveway, and/or pitch your tent in the grassy area next to it. Outdoor recreational opportunities are abundant - hiking, biking, fishing, river tubing, and swimming are all close by. Baltimore City is about a 30 minute drive away. There are plenty of great restaurants and breweries close by. This is a working farm. Farmers will pop in to complete chores on the weekends, but otherwise you have great privacy. The terrain is hilly, but the campsite is level. Rustic restroom with toilet and sink (no shower) is located in our 200-year old barn, right next to the campsite.

Historic Beautiful Barn
Tent · Group trip ·
I loved camping at Kitchen Girl Farm. It is stunning out there. We stayed at the site next to the barn and used the grill and got to hang out by the blooming daffodils. In the morning we woke up and made coffee and went on a little walk around the property. It was so peaceful and the historic barn is so beautiful. Such a pleasant stay so close to Baltimore but you feel so tucked away in the country.

The views were gorgeous, and it was so quiet! Having the barn kitchen was so wonderful, it had more than we expected! We will definitely be back.

Christy's place was perfect for our needs. My husband had a trade show in downtown Baltimore which was 30 min away by light rail (and a 30 min drive on a Saturday morning). We were close to a great biking rail trail and tons of gorgeous hiking in the State Park. Our tent site was private but easy to find and nice and level. There was a burn ban on so we couldn't use the fire ring but it was close by with lots of dry wood under a tarp. The kitchen was darn cute and contained everything that would be needed (though we were camping and had all of our own gear so didn't need to use hers.) It was nice to have a little table and chairs out of the wind, rain, and November darkness. We appreciated that Christy left us drinking water and pails for flushing (the well pump is solar powered so no running water after dark). The site is close to the interstate which is convenient but if you want a quiet night we could hear the highway noise quite clearly. If you have allergies be aware that there's a walk through the barn into the barn basement to get to the toilet. I was fine in the kitchen which is well ventilated, dry, and mostly free of dust but the visit to the loo left me a bit wheezy.

Perfect Place for a chill weekend
Christy was super helpful and responsive before and during the stay. The spot was clean and provided a really good view of the Alpacas and chickens, as well as the gorgeous night sky. The farm fresh eggs were definitely worth it!! We will be back when it’s a little warmer.
