30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!
See our map in the gallery for a complete overview of our property including site locations. Please note that you will need to drive back through the crossing to access the portable toilet.
Property occasionally floods. Zero flash floods, just slow river overflow. Check this site for flooding info. https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?gage=fdkm2 Flood stage is 15 feet.
I loved the tent camping experience at Riverside Farm (North Site). The owner was very responsive, which made the stay even better. I also appreciated its closeness to Cunningham Falls State Park, where we enjoyed a hiking trip.
Site two was wonderful, with lots of space and privacy, even without any leaves growing on the trees (yet). Other campsites were arranged so that we didn’t have a direct sight line to any other campers. It was very easy to navigate to the site using the directions and signage provided. Site two has easy access to the creek which our dog Archie LOVED, and it was a very short walk down a well maintained path to the riverside, which Archie loved even more. We got to see foxes, bats, owls, and a heron all on site. Our pup didn’t want to leave, so we started planning our next visit to Riverside Farm on the way home!
We loved campsite #5! Cozy spot with river access and beautiful sunset views - the only con is the sound of cars from a nearby highway. Otherwise, a relaxing place to spend a weekend
Perfect place to get away for the weekend. Lots of room to set up a couple of tents and enjoy nature. We went in January for a winter camp so didn't do a ton of exploring, but it was quiet and pretty.
