Our property was originally the only homestead on this road. WE offer 4 Walk in Tent sites and a RV site for small campers up 20 ft.- 20 Amp service Only!!! WE also have a 59 Vintage Shasta that rents nightly up to 3 nites The big barn was built over 100 years ago and is still standing. The farm house was built in 1907. It has been remodeled with a second story added. Pine trees were planted to prevent erosion in the 1960's. The national park began buying land near us in the 1970's and the boundary line to the park is a half-mile from Moonshadow Camp. The area is surrounded by state forests and many hiking and biking trails. Our valley is known for incredible stargazing. Amenities include full access to the Camp kitchen and dining area. You will also have access to a Portable restroom and hand washing station which is located by our BIG BARN. Hot Showers, no problem, you can enjoy a secluded private shower in our shower house which has indoor and outdoor showers. Nearby is Lake Michigan and Esch Rd beach. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake shore is nearby and The National Park is famous for attractions , trails, and hiking. Electricity and water is included at the RV site, and the Shasta Camper along with the Showerhouse and Camp Kitchen

CAMP MOONSHADOW Tent Camping

Great combo of privacy & community

Our family of 5 had a great time tent camping at Camp Moonshadow! The pines are beautiful and create privacy among the sites while the rest of the camp (shared kitchen, dining area and fire pit) offers a chance to meet other campers. Everything was well kept and clean, including the porta potties and showers. The location was convenient to beaches, hikes and some of our favorite beach towns, as well as Traverse City.

CAMP MOONSHADOW Tent Camping

This spot was so idyllic- tall pine trees everywhere, star gazing at night, and some conveniences and communal spaces and items that made our trip a success! This was our first tent camping experience with our 3 children and we all really enjoyed our stay! We met Robb and Jeanne the day after we checked in and they were both so welcoming and kind to our family!

This was my children's first tent camping experience and it was such an amazing time! Beautiful and secluded, it truly was the perfect setting for our family. I would highly recommend this site based on the location, friendliness of the owners/other campers, and it's amenities.

Camp Moonshadow was great! Having access to a kitchen and a hot shower while camping was really an added bonus! Robb and Jeanne were so kind and came to check in on us! We are really grateful for their hospitality! PS we are dying to know, where’s the experimental weed farm? 😂

From the moment we arrived at Robb and Jeanne's, it felt like a spiritual place. It rained the entire weekend during our stay, but that didn't deter us from exploring the beautiful, serene landscape that is Camp Moonshadow. The outdoor kitchen was a welcome amenity. Robb was helpful and attentive to our needs. We will definitely come back to find new adventures and good conversations with kind souls that the world needs more of.

Perfect family campout

We loved this property and campsite. The gorgeous trees, plenty of space for our children and us to explore and enjoy being outdoors together. The outdoor kitchen was a very nice touch and so well set up and organized for ease of use and sharing with other campers. We very much enjoyed our two night stay and would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future! Also loved how close it was to Esch beach and Otter creek! Great spot to play and enjoy the water.
