Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Norm's Log Cabin started out as a back 40 acre hunting camp from the 1970's Over the years we have taken time to make some improvements. Accquire addtional adjoining property and run some electricity. We have peiced together 160 acres over the years, and continue to manage the property as a hunting location as well as doing some occasional log harvesting. This is the place to get away from it all, but still be in striking distance to several attractions. A full service restaurant in La Branch which is a short 12 minute drive SE, and a local hang out called the Red Arrow which is a 5 minute drive NW. The Cabin as at the end of a long 1/4 mile driveway in the middle of the 160 acre plot of trees. You need to cross Anderson Creek, and drive past another hunting camp near the front entrance. This front 40 acre camp (Anderson Creek Camp) is another more rustic option then Norm's Log Cabin. The road leading to this driveway of off of Highway 69 is near the village of Hardwood. Along Highway 69 is a snowmobile/ORV trail managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and can be easily reached via the gravel road to/from camp. That specific trail is designated as A, and run the length of Highway 69 and intersects ORV trail AG which would bring you into Escanaba. There is many and frequent ORV activity on this trail, and there are many stopping points for refreshments along the way.
Hardwood Impoundment Pond is the closest body of water to Norm's Log Cabin, and can be reached by car or ATV. This impoundment pond is really the back waters of a local dam in the area, and can be fished from the bank or off the bridge that goes across the area. Very easily reachable.
Again this is just a place to get away from it all and take in the outdoors.
