Happy almost fall campers! So many views and so little time here in the western Upper Peninsula. Fall colors expected to peak first weekend October (as of 9/30/24)! Check out Porkies State Park chairlift rides 10/5, 6 and 12. 10 to 430 ET each day, 10$ plus recreational passport. Copper Peak also offers amazing views of fall colors. Enjoy 400 ft of Lake Superior private sandy beach frontage with access to more than 1.5 miles., Beautiful sunsets, and a chance to witness the northern lights, in your private dark sky park; bring your telescope. Search for agates and yooper rocks; bring a black light. Situated on 8 acres of old growth forest, your short walk to the lake is through a park like preserve. Keep your eyes open for wildlife as you cross the boardwalk to the beach. Bring your kayak and or paddle board for a unique experience. A boat launch 1/2 mile away can easily accommodate 16 ft motor boats if fishing is of interest. Enjoy waterfalls? Bond, Agate, Bonanza, and O Kun-de kun and many more are all within an hour. ATV trails are abundant as well and all county roads allow both ATV and snowmobile traffic, with appropriate permits.Enjoy your private campsite, for tent or RV, nestled in an old growth Northern hardwoods forest. A view of Lake Superior exists from the fire ring area; a short walk across my private board walk, provides private access to more than a mile of sand beach. Boat, kayak, and canoe launch available in Firesteel River, 1/4 mile away or simply carry your kayak, SUP, ... and launch from shore. Campsite includes fire pit, picnic table, heavy duty cart and a bench. Beach includes small charcoal grill and two captains chairs. Some seasoned firewood will always be provided to begin your stay. Additional wood is always available by foraging on site for downed material. My camper and cabin are on the adjoining lot so I'll always be available to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!

Howard's lot was awesome. Nice and quiet. A beach on Lake Superior almost all to yourself. We'll be coming back for sure. Thanks for your hospitality! 😁

Superior Lake Effect

Wonderful experience on Howard's land adjacent to Lake Superior. Communication before and during the trip was excellent. Howard obviously cares a great deal about his guests having everything they need. Campsite is up top and the walkable sand beach is a short walk down a wooded path/boardwalk. Picnic table, fire ring, small smoky joe grill, porta potty, power to plug in and potable water.

We loved this spot! Howard was awesome and super helpful. He checked up on us after some rain to see if we needed anything at all. The view from the beach at sunset was beautiful. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent Hipcamp Location!

Howard has made this campsite a 5-Star location. The campsite was great with every imaginable amenity and a great private deck on the beach which was a short walk away on a path and boardwalk. Thanks Howard! 🌞

Superior Lake Effect

Beautiful beach and campsite! Very peaceful and quiet, even had a deer come right up to the site. Howard literally thought of everything to make your stay very comfortable. Water, electric, porta-potty with a little light, small solar lights down to the beach, wagon to take your stuff to the beach. He even brought us some dry firewood after we had some rain one night! Thank you for being so hospitable, we had a very enjoyable stay!

Lake Superior Camping

This is a beautiful site, and felt like two sites in one. We set up our tent on the forest side. The setup there is great, with the picnic table, bench, fire pit with a swivel grate, and even a fan in case the bugs are bothering while you eat. (We were blessed with it not being buggy during our stay). The walk to the beach is a great little walk, and that moment of arriving at the end of the path and seeing the lake is like walking into another world. It is breathtaking. The beach is soft sand, just perfect. The setup at the beach is great, too. Having the deck with chairs and a little table, tiki torches, and then 2 beach chairs that are easy to move around was great. Enjoying a fire on the beach while watching the sunset was a highlight! Howard is a wonderful host! He gave us a tour of the site, shared info on activities and things to see, including maps of the area. The level of communication was perfect. He was welcoming and friendly, and it was evident that he wanted us to have a great time. He was available if we needed anything, yet also was super respectful of giving us privacy. We are definitely planning to come back!
