Tree house, tiny home, shipping container, luxury hotel - the Forest Container is all of these things. Set in a lush forest valley, this is an incredible and unique place to stay. The property is within the Cuyuna mountain bike area, between the Yawkey and the Cruser's Kettle trailheads. There is a fire ring as well as a great deck upon which you can camp or otherwise relax and enjoy the view of the forested valley. The container is heated and cooled, and the container has a luxurious warm tiled shower, sink, toilet (cassette style), power and of course, as pictured, a beautiful small bedroom and living room. Coffee machine and mini fridge included on the deck. 👍🏼Glamp in style in this one room converted shipping container elevated like a steel treehouse in the beautiful woods near the Cuyuna Mountain Bike trails. The interior is efficient and luxe, making the most of limited space within the 8′ x 20′ container. Just like most hotel rooms, there’s no kitchen but there is a mini-fridge and coffee machine. Built for the year-round Minnesota climate, it features a spray foam shell, triple-glazed windows and doors, solar powered HVAC, LED lighting and hydronic in-floor heat. The water system is self-contained, with a 250-gallon water tank that supplies an on-demand water heater. A high-end, roomy shower keeps a body happy. Enjoy the sunset after your ride on the huge wrap-around deck or around the campfire. The container has one double bed. The Hipcamp software displays it “sleeps 4” but that is the max amount of people that can rent here. You’ll want a tent for those not on the double bed. Please note that the toilet is dry flush style, and although it works great, we do require that you tie up and dispose of your waste at the end of your visit. Thank you!

It was a quiet and secluded. It t was very close to town if we needed anything. Very welcoming!

All the creature comforts needed
This container home was located in the beautiful forest surrounded by trees. Had plenty of shade but also clear enough to allow some sun through though it rained a bit during our stay. The home was quite basic but had all the things we needed to feel not entirely rustic including creature comforts of running water, electricity (plenty of plug options), a dry toilet and shower which after a long day of milking the trails was nice and refreshing. Location was very close to Cuyuna recreation area where if you bike trails or mountain bike is the spot for you. Very scenic trails with many lakes nearby. The bed was comfortable and we slept well on it. Mini fridge and coffeemaker outside in a little storage cabinet with power and that worked just fine and helped keep some space free indoors. All in all, it was a great stay and we would recommend this to friends. Loved checking a container home stay off our bucket list. Thanks Tom for the hospitality.

The Forest Container
What a lovely, peaceful place to stay! The Forest Container is so cleverly made (I loved messing around with the creative lighting options) and so cozy warm, it was a delightful getaway. My favorite things were waking up and watching the sun rise from the comfy bed, and sitting on the deck watching the clouds and birds. Thomas was super helpful, and we had a great dinner out at the Iron Range eatery. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The container was a perfect stay! The instructions for heating, parking, and trash was easy & clear :) Everything was done very well and made for an enjoyable time!

Stayed for a one-night getaway in December and it was wonderful. Thomas was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions before, and during our stay. Will definitely come back to stay at The Forest Container in the future!
