310 Acre Oak woodland forest sanctuary. This property is run as a conservancy and land trust with a board of directors. Trish & Cameron are land stewards and caretakers as well as managing the camping. We are Leftie Hippie Punk Burners. We are artists, postal carriers and permaculture farmers and natural builders. We believe in BLM, and are LGBTQIA ourselves as well as allies and support all people and critters and nature and are intolerant of hate and mysogeny. We love providing a safe beautiful place in the woods for anyone who needs it. The woods are beautiful, there's a few spots cleared for camping and there are trails to hike, a composting toilet, and not too far from the highway, but far enough you can't hear it. We have a fire pit, hammock and picnick tables for you to use if you like. We love meeting people and we also respect mutual privacy. We live off grid but have some power enough to charge your phone should you need it. We have WiFi but please bring your own drinking water. We have a small Berkey for drinking water here but its best you bring your own. We are in process of installing some outdoor showers and more tiny houses. We are a place in progress and we live here (so there may be projects in progress) and so does the wildlife and that includes ticks. We have a dog, cat, chickens, and abundant wildlife and please consider this PRIMITIVE CAMPING. We look forward to meeting you and thanks for visiting!Maya Creek is a nature conservatory of hilly Oak and Hickory forests. We are rehabilitating an off grid natural home and cabins. Solar, rainwater, fiber wifi, composting toilet, rugged forest terrain with trails, our dog and cat roam freely, and we garden and do natural building. Welcome!

Yin and yang
20 ft campervan
200 feet down a gravel driveway off of gravel Road. The camping spot is quiet, dark and safe. It is a pull off from the driveway, just big enough for our transit van. The spot is above the house which faces away from you. The bad news is that the outhouse is on the other side of the compound and all the many unfinished projects in various states of disrepair. Many of them are aesthetic challenges.

Last minute booking at Maya Creek when traveling cross country after ditching a sketchy looking motel. I was delighted to find Mayas creek which I found to be comfortable, safe and peaceful. Trish and her dog Falcor were very welcoming and friendly. I fell asleep watching fireflies and slept like a baby. Would 100 percent stay here again.

Too many tics
Tent
Threw up my hammock no issues but after a morning walk to the composting toilet I was covered in ticks adults and nymphs. The grounds are pretty overgrown so just loads of tick habitat.

We made a last minute reservation. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. We just needed a place to park for the night while passing through so can’t comment on longer stays. It worked just fine for us.

What a magical stay! I absolutely adored getting up and drinking my coffee with the sunrise gently peaking through the autumnal canopy. The trails through the creek, along the ridge, and to the lake were deeply meditative. I even got to see some of the Orionid meteorshower before falling asleep to the wind in the trees. What a magical stay 🥰
