Welcome to our tranquil retreat nestled next to a serene 50-acre lake! Our campsite offers a simple and secluded getaway, perfect for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Situated on approximately 3 acres of pristine countryside, our farm provides a peaceful setting for reconnecting with nature. Whether you're lounging by the lake, casting a line for fishing, or paddling in a kayak or canoe, you'll find plenty of opportunities to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors. Please note that motorized boats are not permitted on the lake, ensuring a tranquil atmosphere for all guests. As we are located in the path of totality for the solar eclipse, you'll have the rare opportunity to witness this spectacular celestial event. Be sure to bring your eclipse glasses for safe viewing! For your convenience, clean spring water is available on-site, ensuring you stay hydrated during your stay. Additionally, we're located just 30 minutes from Poplar Bluff and 15 minutes from Doniphan, offering easy access to amenities while still enjoying the seclusion of our farm. Escape the crowds and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature at our secluded campsite. Whether you're seeking peace and tranquility or an unforgettable eclipse viewing experience, we invite you to join us for a memorable retreat in the heart of Missouri's countryside. This site is a grass field, half surrounded by beautiful pine trees. Each spot is 40’x40’ so you should have plenty of room to park next to your tent or camper with lots of room left over. The landing for launching canoes and kayaks will be just below the campsite and there will be extra parking close by if you have more than one vehicle. Stop by the house if you need fresh water and we will make sure someone is available to help get it. The Little Black River is just a few minutes walk through a field and if you want to take your kayak over there you can drive through the field and you will need to drag it through a very small patch of woods (about 50yds). There is a rock fire pit in the middle of the site for anyone that wants to gather and hang out.

Andrew was a kind, thoughtful, considerate host. The land is lovely, quiet and remote. It's accessible to people staying in tents or in vehicles. There are trees in some places for hammock camping. It was a great place to watch the eclipse.

Eclipse 2024 at the Michal Ranch
We had a wonderful time with people camping from around the world for the 2024 solar eclipse. The hosts were very nice, checked on the campers often, and provided an excellent site to observe the eclipse. Why the ‘mixed’ review? Only one wireless carrier had any signal at this location, and some campers may seek such isolation to get some work done without distractions. If this is true for you, then be sure your carrier is Verizon. On the positive side, the night sky is star-studded with very little light pollution at the horizon, and the sounds you hear are almost all those of nature.

Just GO!
My family and I have camped all over the nation, but especially the midsouth since this is where we’re from. When I say that THIS was the most peaceful trip we have ever experienced, I mean it with my heart and soul. We were there for the eclipse (which happened to be clear skies and a spectacular view) & camped close to the lake. We enjoyed catching and releasing large mouth bass & crappie, inspecting the snails, & muscles, hunting for firewood (plentiful & well seasoned), paddle boarding and taking in the turtles, bats, and other wildlife… No words can describe the hospitality of our hosts & the immense peace that we felt during our stay! We strongly recommend this spot & look forward to returning in the near future!
