Cottonwood Camp is nestled under towering cottonwood trees on 17 historical acres, overlooking 3 Mile Access on the legendary Bighorn River. These hallowed grounds are surrounded by 300 wildlife filled acres of Bighorn Canyon National Rec' Area land. Excellent boating, water sports, and additional fishing opportunities are a short 15 minute drive away at Bighorn Canyon Lake. Our 14 cabins all have a personality of their own with occupancy capacity ranging from 2 all the way up to 18! All feature a fully equipped kitchen + outdoor social space w/ bbq grill. In addition we have FHU and W/E RV sites and plenty of pitch tent sites that have use of our two bathhouses. Guests are greeted in our full service fly shop that can get you hooked up on a guided trip, shuttle, or drift boat rental. Whether you want an action packed day on the Bighorn, a relaxing day on the Lake or just wanna escape your day to day to hear the sights and sounds of Big Sky Country, you can't go wrong with Cottonwood Camp!

Rustic Cottonwood Camp
The grounds are ok. It’s a campground. The public bathrooms and showers are old and dirty. They work. It’s a rustic experience. The shop is open a couple hours a day, but when the Sargent isn’t managing it he is available by cell phone. No strict supervision. The running water next to the campground is a canal. Not a creek you can walk in.

The place was roomy, able to accommodate any kind of camping setup. Level ground, fairly quiet, and not far from water.

Welcoming staff, beautiful location. About 1/2 mile walk/drive to fish on the Bighorn. I fished both spinning tackle and beginner fly rod, had success on both. Local guides are excellent and would recomend.

It was a great fishing camp that even had a fly shop! There is plenty of shade, and the spots are substantial. Unfortunately, the fly shop was not open while we were there, but we plan to return and take advantage of some great fishing next year and will likely try this fishing camp again. The two bath/shower rooms are similar to what you likely have at home, with a sink, shower, and toilet. The restrooms could have used a good cleaning and some paint, but I have seen much worse. They will likely get a bit busy during the high season with only two showers & bathrooms for what looks to be thirty to forty campsites. This camp is not right on the river. It is a little over a mile away, but it didn't seem to be an issue for those who were there to fish the river.

Nice shady site under cottonwoods. Close access to the Bighorn River. I'd recommend to anyone!

Tent ·
Well located place and big campground. However, the tents area was close to the entrance road and a bit annoying at night with cars coming back late at night. In addition, the toilets were not so clean and their condition could be much better.
