The property used to be part of the old Johanson farm, it was a 200 acre dairy farm a hundred years ago. when the State put in the highway (I-93) in 1961 it split the farmland in half. So now there are a hundred acres on each side of the Highway. The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system. The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp. The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. We are located in the Heart of the local Trail system. There are several great places to swim and Kayak or Canoe literally around the corner. There are also lots of great local attractions close by, many that have Farm Stores, Shops, Homemade Gifts, Breads, Pies, Cheeses and we even have a few local Breweries. There is something for everyone, just ask and we will point you in the Right Direction.

Site 11 Jesse James Hide out

We very much enjoyed our 2 nights/3 days at Wolf Swamp!! We stayed at the Jesse James Hideout and it was a great campsite. It felt very private and was absolutely peaceful. There was a very clean port-a-potty less than 50 feet from the entrance to the site. When we arrived we were met by Lillian ( a Jack Russell terrier) who was just a sweetheart. Talked to Elle for a few minutes and realized very quickly that she was going to be a great host! We ordered two bundles of wood and were very surprised by how much wood was delivered. Elle’s partner was a very nice gentleman who delivered our wood bundles to us. It rained on Saturday after we left to explore for the day and the wood that we ordered was delivered and covered by a tarp to keep our wood and kindling dry. What a wonderful surprise to come back to that and was so greatly appreciated!! Definitely will be a place that we will be coming back to again next spring! Also if you are a horse lover, they have three beautiful and friendly horses that you can visit. Really looking forward to camping here again!

Site 11 Jesse James Hide out

Second time staying at the Wolf Swap and will definitely be back. Excellent hosts, delivered a large pile of wood & water. Quickly responded to messages. Accommodated a large group (5 people/ 5 tents / 5 cars/ 3 dogs). Clean restrooms. Private sites. Close to mountain bike, hikes, great location.

Site 10 Sunset Hill

Great Campsite Near White Mountains

We stayed at site 10 and it was awesome! Private and wooded but plenty of space for two vehicles (including a camper truck) and a tent. The hosts delivered firewood and were great to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.

Site 9 The Tuckaway

Outdoors camping at its best

I love the ruggedness of the sites, it feels like I'm camping in the woods rather than a public campground. The personalization of each of the port-a-potties is great! I think this is going to become a recurring thing.
