Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Ballyhooly is in the heart of the Upper Hunter, nestled in the hills behind Murrurundi. The property consists of the main residence which sits above a large paddock and stable block that then runs along to a series of smaller paddocks that lead up to ‘Far Hill’ which looks over the town and surrounding hills. The hill offers great views with a small fire pit, swing and area for camping.
Near the stable block is the Alpaca paddock where our two pet Alpacas are very happy to be fed with their favourite treats.Campers would enter through the stables private gate and drive through the large paddock down to the creek crossing below Far Hill (if they have a. 4WD camper) or park at the stables and walk (2WD). There are a few different spots you could pitch a tent at the top of the hill, or you can park a camper near the creek at either end of the property. Camping up the hill would require gear to be carried across the creek which is not suitable for vehicles.
On request access is available to walk the trail up to the top of Mt Pleasant across 150acre neighbouring property. There is a local gin distillery that is well worth a visit, and cafes in town only 1.5km walk away.

Trailer tents and Campervan allowed
Vehicles under 15 meters allowed
Pull-through unit
Surface type: Grass or field
The site is split between the Hill and the lower paddock which is next to the creek. The lower paddock is probably only suitable for smaller motorhome/camper trailers simply because of the need to turn around. Larger vehicles can be parked in the large paddock, and we would recommend that all visitors park in the larger paddock and walk to their camping spott
