Curlew Waters is one of the three lakes in the Lake Cargelligo area.
An “Oasis in the Outback” the wetland system is channeled by the Lachlan River flowing into the “Sheet of Water” then “Curlew Waters” and finally into the main lake “Lake Cargelligo”.
Lake Cargelligo is a 10 minute drive from your location at "Curlew Camp" offering services such as fuel station, supermarket, bakery, pubs, clubs, chemist and hardware store.
Curlew Waters is the deepest of the lakes and offers a beautiful yet quiet location for your leisure including Water Sports, Canoeing, Swimming, Fishing and Birdwatching.
Just an ideal spot to relax in general.
Wake up early and enjoy stunning sunrises and listen to the tunes of nature. Birds, birds, birds!
At Curlew Camp you will find a mowed down area with lake frontage set amongst the gum trees.
The block can only be booked by one person or group at a time and is fenced.
Please be aware though if you have small children the channel of water is not fenced and fronts the entire western side of the block. The short driveway into the block is dirt so road conditions vary depending on weather. After heavy rain access is 4WD only.
The property is situated right at the mouth of the channel that feeds from Curlew Waters into Lake Cargelligo, so if you are a fisherman you can float out on the water in your boat or just throw a line out front
Fish in the lake include Murray Cod, Yellowbelly, Redfin, Catfish and European Carp.
A campfire is permitted in the allocated fire pit. Please no fires on hot days.
Pets are allowed but please discard any waste.
So come along, bring your swag, your tent, or your vans!
Bring your camera, binoculars or just a comfy chair and sit back and enjoy the serenity.Guests will enjoy 2.5 acres with 50m of lake shoreline to themselves but please note there may be other people out on the water (on boats) or on the adjoining property next door. Rarely other people camp on the adjoining property but it does happen!

The site is well-maintained and the hosts, Rebecca and Sandy, are known for their warm hospitality and helpfulness. Campers appreciate the convenience of the covered area for protection from weather and the availability of kayaks for water activities. Some visitors noted occasional noise from nearby roads and fire restrictions, but overall, the camp is a favorite for its tranquility and natural beauty.

A little oasis! Such a great place to camp. We loved our time at Curlew Camp. The kids were kept busy kayaking, fishing and swimming. We will definitely be back.

Gotta love Curlew Camp
Tent · With pets
Second time camping at Curlew. Having the skillion is a bonus from either the rain or heat. Water from the lake is great for showering and tank water, as a backup, if necessary.
We're not many skiers or fisher folk this year, all are friendly and give you a wave on their way past.
Have booked again for 2026 as it doesn't get much better than this.
