Kookaburra is a 20-acre farm located between Ulladulla and Nowra on the NSW South Coast, just under a three-hour drive from Sydney and Canberra. It offers a peaceful and authentic bush experience, ideal for a weekend getaway or an overnight stop, especially for those travelling through the Jervis Bay area. You can camp in an open paddock or relax under the shade of tree canopies. A short bushwalk will take you to a quiet creek, and the area is home to local wildlife, including kookaburras, wallabies, and secretive wombats. The farm also has a variety of animals, including cows, chickens, Elmo the horse, Warren the Sheep, and Phyllis the pig, who may greet you when you arrive. At Kookaburra, we ensure guests have plenty of space and privacy, though you may see other visitors in the area. We operate on a self-sufficient basis, so please take all your rubbish with you and respect the natural environment and the next visitors. If you plan to arrive after dark, please let us know in advance so we can assist with arrangements. Fires are allowed (subject to fire danger conditions), and you're welcome to gather your firewood, or we have firewood for sale at the gate ($20). Pets are welcome but must be supervised around the farm animals and wildlife. Please note that phone reception is limited, so come prepared. While a 2WD vehicle is usually acceptable, adverse weather conditions may require a 4WD. When exploring the property, be mindful of wombat holes, tree stumps, and snakes. Whether you're stopping by for a short stay or looking for a quiet retreat, Kookaburra offers a unique and relaxing bush escape. We look forward to welcoming you.

A great weekender

Kookaburra feels like a real gem of a camping spot so close to the coast, especially if you have young kids. Plenty of room to ramble around, a sweet little running creek to splash in and plenty of friendly farm animals to meet. Peaceful, clean and easy to access with our old viscount.

Absolutely beautiful stay. Christine was a very accommodating host, and the site felt private, relaxing and tranquil. The animals were super friendly (especially the pig!) and the creek was the perfect spot to go swimming in for a fresh dip. The toilet was clean and well looked after and the owners were friendly and kept us in the loop when they were going to make any 'substantial' noise with the water pump or machinery (which was very, very quiet anyway). Would absolutely stay here again!

A nice area but the campsite was very exposed to the elements. We were unfortunate to hit very high winds but it made the campsite uncampable and our destroyed tent is proof to that, however, the hosts were lovely and I suspect in better weather the site would be more enjoyable.

Kookaburras were quiet

It was very quiet and calming. A lovely meadow with horse, cows and pig. Close to the creek which was flowing slowly and was deep in parts for a swim.

Thank you Christine for proving such an amazing campsite. The campground is well maintained and clear considering there are farm animals living there. On top of that there is a short walk to the creek and the water is quite clear and you can see some fish in there too. If I have to give this place a rating I would give it a 10/10. Fire - yes Open sky - yes Dog friendly- yes Lots of birds - yes Creek near campground - yes Clean toilet facility- yes Would certainly recommend this place a visit :)
