The Nambucca Valley Train Carriages offers a unique and comfortable retreat with its beautifully decorated train carriage accommodations. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, thoughtful details, and the natural surroundings that make it feel secluded, yet conveniently close to towns. Hosts Dave and Diane are noted for their warm hospitality and helpful local tips. However, mosquitoes can be a significant issue despite using repellents.
After a rough couple of days traveling, pitching and unpitching the tent, we decided on looking for somewhere to stay, we couldn't have chosen a better place. The red carriage was a wonderful suprise. A real nice bespoke built cabin with charm and a comfortable interior. The bed is as soft as you like, clearly no expense spared. Bathroom is modern with surprisingly good water pressure. This place gave us the rest we needed. Diane, lovely lady, met us when we arrived and explained the place, even had breakfast ready in the fridge for us.
Do yourself a favour and book this wonderful place for yourself.
We had a couple of amazing nights in the well appointed, beautifully decorated red train carriage. The surrounds make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though you’re only a few km from populated towns. Train spotting is a unique experience that makes you feel like a young kid waiting for the drivers to toot their horn. Hosts, Dave and Dianne, were very welcoming and pointed us in the direction of great, local day trips. Getting your home town placed upon the ‘Mash Pole’ is a fantastic inclusion-making the place feel like a little piece of you is there. Thank you, and we’ll love to come back!

The accommodation is lovely and watching the trains is awesome but the mosquitoes are unbearable even with citronella candles and personal insect repellent we were bitten so badly.
Wow, where to start upon arriving at the Nambucca trains we were delighted to see the thoughtful train signs leading up the driveway, which let us easily to our carriage. The carriage area was delightful with a central campfire area, washing machine box and so much firewood, pre-cut and ready to go. The carriage itself what was truly delightful. The care and love put into the carriage was above & beyond. Not only was their exterior and interior accurate, the accommodation was decorated so gorgeous and we felt right at home immediately. What struck us most is the amount of attention and detail that went above and beyond in our stay. Breakfast, snacks and barbecue, refreshments beverages and bathroom goods were all laid out, lovingly, ready for our arrival. Dave was so kind to come down and meet us at our arrival and share with us some amazing tips to explore the area as well as letting us know about the carriages themselves, which was highly insightful and made us feel right at home. We also thoroughly enjoyed the train watching platform. We hope to come up again for the soul purpose of staying on the train.
This was such a wonderful place to stay for the evening, Dave was very welcoming and helpful sharing local knowledge and information about the trains and places to eat. The carriage is lovely and modern on the inside and we loved the australiana themed touches. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start the morning in the sunshine. It was lovely having the windows open and listening to nature and it was cool to see the trains go by.
