This place is just magical.
It’s the word that kept coming to mind when I was there… the property is very well loved as are the animals. Rick was friendly and helpful and I appreciated the breakfast I was brought I the morning :) The farm is tucked away off the road and it is so peaceful and lovely. The yurt is beautiful and so nicely decorated, plus they have some snacks and water they provide, as well providing towels and some toiletries. There was an “amish bath” (pitcher and bowl) even which is came to appreciate as the solar powered outside shower did not work … the firewood provided was appreciated and I enjoyed a fantastic fire while watching the stars which were incredible , as well as watched the twinkling of the fireflies all around me and listened to the orchestra that is nature… there were a number of sounds going on I had not heard before when camping or hiking. The song of all the creatures there was just amazing. The animals around the farm are very cute though the sheep was a bit intrusive and tried to steal my food multiple times lol.
One complaint i have is about the meals it says they offer… they looked delicious and I was excited to try the food. I asked for dinner earlier in the day as I was showing up at 6-7p. That was not mentioned in the listing or the welcoming message I received after booking. I then asked for lunch the next day & told again they needed 24 hrs notice. Even though it says on the menu lunch only needed to be ordered the morning of.
Hosts are super friendly and I learned a lot about the farm animals, got to see Carol, one of the sheep get sheared. We were nice and warm inside our clean tent in the treehouse, received cleaning wipes, both for our dishes and for ourselves. There was a little shower and lots of firewood to have toasty nights. Clear sky of stars could be seen laying down inside the tent with its transparent cover. Farm friends were great company, hanging with us during yoga, on the hammock, and especially when we were eating. Artsy trails with trees to climb and mirrors to take pictures in. Overall amazing experience and some beautiful hikes with waterfalls to visit nearby.
We loved our stay at the Mariaville Goat Farm. The yurt was super comfortable and well appointed. All the critters are amazing and adorable, My kids loved waking up and hanging out with the goats and the kids. The sheep kept us company by our campfire at night. Even our usually leashed Australian shepherd mix dog was able to use his innate skill in herding couple of times. We are all in love.
We had a fantastic visit! The Tree House was a magical place to stay. It is so cleverly constructed and beautifully decorated. There were so many thoughtful details in place to make sure visitors are comfortable.
We loved meeting Rick, the goats, bunnies, and sheep. It was fun to interact with such friendly goats. Rick patiently answered all of our questions about them and allowed us to enjoy their company.
We did not realize it when we booked, but homemade breakfast is included each morning. The spread included home made baked goods, warm hard-boiled eggs, home made apple cider, coffee, tea, fruit and Oui yogurt. Jam, butter, honey? Yes, included.
We would definitely like to come back to this peaceful place again soon. Rick and Ed are excellent hosts and we felt most welcome.
We absolutely loved Rick & Ed's place. We stayed in the yurt. It is amazing- it had everything you need and more! We opted to purchase dinner from them and it was absolutely delicious! The breakfast was as well. They gave us a s'more kit that was a big hit! You will not be disappointed- book now!!!
