I had an awesome time. Spent 4 nights at the farm and made sure to take advantage of the cafe and live music. I hopped on my bike and peddled to New Paltz day one! The next morning I met Gwyneth at the barn to milk and feed the goats then watched as they were sent to their grazing pen. Then gwyneth fed and let her horse out. I was invited back to her house to purchase homemade herbed goat cheese! The cheese was delicious. I was privileged to celebrate Indigenous Peoples day at the rail trail cafe! I travel solo and felt comfortable and safe. The new bathhouse afforded a warm shower and a comfortable place to ready for the day. For me it was a perfect stay!

Idyllic Hudson river valley spot
Camping here was wonderful, me & my friend camped here last weekend in Oct. 2024 and it was just the place we needed for a getaway close as we live in CT and you see the leaves change colors. We brought out two dogs and they loved it here. Facilities were great, having a sink with hot/cold water was awesome. However the porta potties were nearly full. Will visit again. 10/10

Nice and quiet, just by the trail, bike rental and Pizza shack and main street is just a few minutes drive. Definitely coming back 🤗

The Place Came to Life!
Very humble meadow with some firepits scattered around the edges. Easy to find, easy to access. No assigned sites, so pick a spot and set up. We, unfortunately, picked a time where it was raining so that was a bummer. But, it also seemed that no one else was around so we had it to ourselves. Very nice. The Rail Trail Cafe is also a unique feature, and came to life the next morning with an active pizzeria, a great deal of folks hanging about, and even music. We enjoyed this twist in an otherwise quiet area. We didn't think it would open due to the weather, but sure enough it did. If you're someone who really like solitude, I would imagine this place might not be for you. The campsite itself might be prone to noise from passing people and distant cars. So if you enjoy a more active area, then this is definitely the spot. Also a bike trail goes right through the cafe and campsite area. A very active trail as well with bikers and hikers alike. Also the bathroom is surprisingly large. Also very nice. We are already strongly considering coming back for a longer period to fully enjoy what this site has to offer.

We had the best time. It was easy to find, quiet, and an overall very enjoyable weekend! Gwen was awesome, and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away!

Red Fox Meadow is the perfect place to be in nature while still being in community. There’s plenty of flat mown pasture to sleep cozily in your own little setup, and just across the lawn is a cool loungy space with fire pits and a little pop-up cafe. In between the two is a chunk of the most luscious and chill rail trails I’ve seen! Bring a bike, bring the dog, bring the family, and get out there!
