Welcome to Stergelandia-the place you want when you need it most. We take the work out of camping for you! Come experience open fields, dark skies and forest deep in Amish country. We've all had difficulties in our lives that required us to regroup and reset. With this in mind, we designed and created the glass sanctuary for our guests, an on-site store for gifts to take with you, walking paths for you to immerse yourself in the woods and quiet, contemplative spaces for you to sit and reflect. Love nature but don't want to immerse yourself in the fields and woods? Enjoy stargazing and sunbathing on our elevated viewing platform and field-level cabana deck! Love wildlife? Stergelandia is teeming with life. We are home to white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, chipmunks and our beloved frogs! At night, hear the chirping of the peeper tree frogs and the howl of the coyotes. Enjoy a more manicured setting than the woods and fields? You'll enjoy our small, restored apple orchard surrounding the meditation garden. Coming with friends? From the gathering circle featuring wood benches for your group to sit and talk, to the decks and benches thoughtfully laid out throughout the property, there is plenty of space for you to enjoy the quiet serenity of an overnight in the countryside. Our meditation space, the Glass Chapel and garden, is perfect for intimate ceremonies and gatherings, and our field viewing platform and deck is an excellent place for people to gather under the sun and stars. On weekends we offer pastries and a variety of hot beverage items for guests in a communal setting from the first weekend in June through the second weekend in October. Stergelandia is perfect for stargazing! A remote setting, you’re close enough to amenities to feel at home but deep enough in the woods to get away from it all. We’ve seen deer, foxes, turkeys, hawks, chipmunks and bear on the property-a wildlife lovers paradise! We are 9 minutes from the Genesee River access point where fishing and paddling is plentiful. Want to unplug? Our guests with T-Mobile, AT&T and Cricket have had reliable cell service and we can help with tips to store your cell phone during your stay. Our guests with Verizon report they are offline, leaving you free to use your phone for photos without the interruptions or temptations of outside life. We are close by in our cottage on most weekends if any questions arise and can be reached by cell phone during the week. We offer cozy Mexican blankets, Icelandic Wool blankets, Icelandic Chocolates and other items and souvenirs for purchase on most Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. All glamping guests registered through Hipcamp are given complimentary access to scheduled activities in September-October including our amazing 4th annual women's retreat, Chicks in the Sticks, from September 14-15, 2024. We hope you'll join us every year as we continue to our habitat restoration and creation journey at Stergelandia. We can't wait to meet you. We re-open bookings in March for the 2025 season! Fri: Your hygge getaway starts now
Jennifer's space is amazing!! I had such a peaceful night sitting by the fire and watching the stars from the observation deck. The property is well maintained and the cabin was perfectly cozy for myself and my dog. I felt completely safe as a solo female traveler. I would definitely return!

A lovely place for a reseat
The A frames at Sterglandia are comfortable and so serene! The land is beautiful and there are all sorts of birds and other wildlife to watch. The woods are fantastic for quiet contemplative walks and the meditation garden and chapel are lovely places for a necessary respite from the rest of the world.

Amazing! Just book it!
My sister and I are avid campers and decided to give Stergelandia a try because it looked super cute. When we got there, our minds were blown at how adorable it actually is! We loved not having to pack a tent and realistically didn’t need to bring blankets, etc either because it was provided. Jen was in contact at all times making sure our stay was amazing and even came out to give us a tour herself. We stayed in Fri and it was within walking distance to the observation deck which was an added bonus. If you’re thinking about a weekend getaway, this is the place. Just book it!

Gumdrop Junction
Absolutely magical & peaceful property. Jennifer was a fantastic host, the property was exactly as described. Gave us a great chance to unplug and recharge. We most enjoyed the stunning views - especially the morning & evening sky. The rocking chairs & lounges under the observation deck were a great place to relax. We had fun exploring the trails on property. We also headed to Letchworth state park for some hiking & a swim. Our dinner cooked over the open fire was delish. We will definitely be back. The Gumdrop A-Frame was a perfect match to our style & made me smile each time we walked in & woke up there. Thanks again for sharing your slice of paradise Jennifer!!

beautiful space
Jennifer has created a beautiful space. I came up here from VA to explore an area I’ve never been to and also to take some solo time to myself. Got to see letchworth and Watkins glen state parks. I also journaled, created, and read. The land/camp/trip in general left me feeling inspired. The other two camps on the property were empty during my stay and I really did have the feeling of being TRULY alone which I typically haven’t experienced when solo traveling as I usually stay at camp grounds with other people close by. However I still felt safe and comfortable. Lots of water available, as well as other items to use that you may need for your stay. Definitely be mindful of the bugs especially if your here peak summer like I was (you feel very much in the woods) but if you are someone who spends a lot of time outdoors then it shouldn’t be surprising for you. I did not have cell service (Verizon) but once I got back into the town of Angelica (less than a 10 min drive from camp) - I had good coverage. If I find myself in the area again one day ~ I would definitely stay again.

Fri: Your hygge getaway starts now
Jennifer was the perfect host for our first ever Hipcamp. Her property is beautiful and the work she is doing there was a joy to experience. She was able to accommodate a few last minute requests and was very responsive to any chat requests within just a few hours. She even provided some extra equipment in case you forgot some big spray, utensils or any other basic stuff. I would highly recommend checking Stergelandia out as soon as you can! We were treated to a beautiful view of a thunder storm rolling in from the distance at the top of the observation deck and watched as the fog rolled in.
