Beechwood at Terrace Farm
Remote Place to Tent Camp
Tent camping here was great. There is plenty of space between campsites. The campsites sit along a long, bumpy dirt road that is mostly uphill. We did not have cell service at the campground, but if you drive a mile or two down the road into downtown Phoenicia there is cell phone service, restaurants, and a small supermarket.

Beechwood at Terrace Farm
Beautiful site surrounded by ferns, the shade keeps it nice and cool but you get dappled sun through the canopy. Feels secluded, you hear some road sounds but it’s distant. Beechwood is farther apart from the other two so we rarely heard the other campers. It is right across from the trail entrance so I would keep in mind you may have someone from one of the other site walk up for that reason. Highly recommend the lookout trail.
The packed sawdust that covers most of the site was great because you don’t have to worry about setting up the tent to avoid rocks or roots if you’re not using an air mattress. We had just sleeping bags and thought it was a noticeably more comfortable surface. The composting toilet was a nice and clean, great to have one at the site versus a shared one.
It’s so close that we probably could have walked into Phonecia, if you don’t mind no sidewalks. We did walk down to the spot by the creek, but if you’re bringing kayaks or food to cook it would probably be better to drive over. Adele and her family were awesome hosts, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.

The Hemlocks at Terrace Farm
The Hemlocks was a beautiful campsite. Very private - we could not see or hear any other campers even though the other sites were booked. Loved that we were close to the fence where we could see the animals (did not hear them at night). The compost toilet was very well-maintained and did not smell at all. And Adele was extremely responsive throughout.
There was a bit of noise from somewhere... maybe in town? We heard a bass line from some music when were were going to bed. Not loud, but noticeable.
Great food and anything you could need just a few minutes away in Phoenicia (+ Woodstock brewing)

Awesome site and Adele was a great host. The town of Phoenecia is <10 mins away for any forgotten items or for a meal. Fishing all over the place. The kids and I had a blast.
