Inclusion policyWe have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination at Hipcamp. We are committed to helping our Host and Hipcamper communities be inclusive.
This campsite offers a mix of experiences with some visitors praising its quiet, secluded feel close to Charlotte, and the warm responsiveness of the host, Phillip. Several campers appreciated the abundant space and privacy, ideal for letting kids and pets explore freely. However, some guests pointed out issues with muddy conditions after rain, noise from nearby roads and airplanes, and challenges with campsite leveling. Despite these concerns, many still enjoyed the rustic charm and proximity to nature, making it a frequent choice for local escapes.

Arrived at night, and the directions were a bit misleading—GPS took me to the wrong location. It would be clearer to say, ‘First gate on the right with a no trespassing sign.’ The site itself lacks level ground, and after rain, the only flat spot turned into a mud hole. There’s an old house on the property being torn down, so it feels a bit like camping in a front yard. Could see and hear the coughing neighbor on her porch. It’s basically on neighborhood street. Some improvements could really help this spot feel more welcoming.

We just love it here! This was our 3rd trip here and it just keeps getting better every time. The host is very responsive and nice. Lots of privacy and lots of space for my small kids to explore. Of course we’ll definitely be back when it warms back up. Thanks Phillip😊

Not private, buggy and muddy…
16 ft car
After making the reservation, I received a message from the host a few hours later(after check in) warning me that due to rain the site would be slick/muddy and to stay on the driveway. I told him we were using a roof top tent and asked if the driveway was level. He said we should be fine, so we decided to try it anyway. Lo and behold the only place wide enough to setup and still safe enough to not get stuck wasn’t level. Thankfully I had some leveling blocks that helped. The area was extremely buggy, we had noise from airplanes all night long and it’s not a very private site, you can see/hear the road and neighbors. Of course it poured raining all night which led to worries of getting stuck in the mud. It would’ve been nice to have been offered a refund since the site was going to be muddy and we would be limited as to where we could setup.

Convenient, quiet spot minutes away from Charlotte. Even though it rained the day before I arrived, the site was accessible and level for my truck camper.

It feels very secluded even though it isn't. Very private and peaceful. Unfortunately, I stayed during a hurricane and didn't get to experience all of it's beauty. Would absolutely recommend.

Nice quiet place! The kids loved being able to run free and so did I. We will definitely be back😊
