Beautiful 20+ acres with a large pond all to yourself! Situated conveniently next to the state highway, our farm has a barn and newly planted blue berries and fruit trees. Fishing, canoeing, stargazing, wildlife watching... a perfect place to relax and unwind. Local attractions include Animal Park at the Conservators Center and the charming downtown Mebane. Pets are welcomed. Take a walk around the pond or venture into the woods, and enjoy your stay! P.S. If you are planning an extended stay (more than 4 weeks) or have a party exceeding 6 people, please reach out to me directly. Thank you.Dry camping only. We currently don't have marked areas, but multiple camping spots are available. Please no tents or vehicles in the barn. If you choose to camp down by the pond, please note that the area is low and tends to get muddy. Only tents can be set up down the pond. All vehicles should stay on the main grass driveway. Thank you! There are no other campers on the property. During the growing season, we mow the grass about twice a month and do maintenance work around the pond and on the blueberry and other plants occasionally. If you happen to see people working on the property, that will be us.

Farm pond camping

We loved tent camping at By the Water. Easy to find easy to set up. Lovely view across the water. Neighboring chickens have a lot to say, but they become background noise. Also while we are well away from the road, you can hear the traffic. Once on the property it feels very private and secluded.

Absolutely love this location. It was a much needed getaway. We love the privacy. Definitely recommend this area for someone who wants to get back to the basics.

Fourth time I’ve been to this location. Very easy to access and secluded considering it’s right off the road. Really enjoy having the whole lake to myself.

Private pond, manicured grounds

I hesitate to recommend this place because it will get booked and I'll never get to see it again. Farm pond with fish jumping and Herons patrolling the shore. Closely mown field grass, plenty of level RV parking. Some road noise and chicken coop continuous background noise 24/7. No bugs to speak of end of April.

Very peaceful and great pond to fish in. First time taking my dog camping so it was nice that it was isolated and you don’t have to worry about other campers around the area.
