If you only camp once in your life, make it Cedar Island Ranch. Here, you can ride a horse along miles of undeveloped beach that hasn’t changed since long before the Spanish explorers set eyes on it. Rent kayaks, paddle boards or canoes, go fishing or have a romantic weekend on the beach. We’re open year-round for your vision of a family vacation paradise or a perfect honeymoon. We’re open year-round. Bring your home or stay in the comfort of our 2-bedroom Suites or beautifully renovated Motel Rooms. Most RV sites have ocean or bay views – 17 are directly on the bay water. Twelve pull-through sites directly face Cedar Island beach with fantastic views. Our RV park has 61 spaces with water plus 30- and 50-amp electric service. When the guests ask, we provide. So, we’ve got everything you need for an unequaled coastal experience right here. The Cedar Island Ferry terminal to Ocracoke Island and on to Cape Hatteras is right at our doorstep. You’ll have free Wi-Fi, clean bathroom facilities, and an enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff to help. Bring your boat. We have a private ramp and a state ramp into deep water and Atlantic access.

Camping, beach, and wild horses!
We loved camping at Cedar Island! The campsites were clean and the easy access to the private beach was great! Having a chance to see the wild horses while there is such a treat! The ferry that is right next the campground allows for a quick trip to Ocracoke. We can't wait to go back!

Central Back-In FHU 50ft
The 50' back in spot had plenty of room to set up the camper, picnic table with a popup 10x10 canpoy around it and a fire ring all spaced apart. The grounds were clean and the kayak launch was a nice spot to fish or just sit at night star gazing. We were there during the week and had the beaches mostly to ourselves and even packed out it was still private. There was a great sunrise on the camp side and sunset on the ferry side. Also the waves weren't huge or powerful so you had to get way out to get into deep water so little kid friendly. We rode the Ferry as passengers for $1 a person 2.25 hours to Okracoke and explored Blackbeards old stoping grounds. The island has a shuttle system that you can ride for free first out at 8 and back at 5:30 during the summer. Definitely bring everything you need for your trip because there is a general store in town with fishing gear and bait and then a Dollar General 20 minutes away. I recommend that you leave the car and bring a 4 wheeler or a 4×4 to ride on the beach on the ferry side next time I will bring my Polaris instead.

Tent - Wooded
At Cedar Island the staff was amazing and we never had a problem. We were supposed to leave Saturday but ended up staying Saturday night as well. The staff made the kids first time camping worth it. They got to see the horses, go kayaking, fishing, and played volleyball on the beach. The bathrooms were always cleaned and always had AC. I would recommend staying here without a doubt and honestly we can’t wait to go back! This place is now our second home! Thanks again we loved it!

Great location and facilities. We enjoyed our stay and wish we got a chance to ride the horses. I will note that it can be buggy so make sure to bring your bug spray!
