Four years ago I purchased my dream retirement.... 108 acres in the beautiful college town of Cullowhee, NC. Nestled up to the Great Smoky Mountains National park, this property is unique in everything it offers. Riverside on the renowned fly fishing river, the Tuckasegee River, or ridge top on Cullowhee Mountain, elevation 3850'. There are improved camp sites, a yurt, or free range camping and hiking. The fall views are spectacular, wherever you decide to locate. We implement " Leave no trace" rules and welcome respectful 4wd access to our ridge top. We are currently endeavoring agroforestry techniques to respectfully harvest the bounties of the woodlands in our Living Mountain Farms online store. Our hope is to one day make this magical mountain sustain those who reside upon the reserve, and provide a most memorable stay for our guests! Destination Outdoors! DO IT!

Beautiful tent camping right on the river. Excellent unplug from the world and very secluded. Matt’s dog Ash is an absolute treat to play with as you unwind on the river. Would definitely recommend 4wd or AWD vehicle for exploring all the property.

Great location. Great stay. Amazing Trail leading to the camp site. A little more bugs here being the vegetation is a bit tighter; but if it's hot, you would wish for a shaded location. So have to weight it out. HOST is very nice, made sure we were comfortable. Awsome guy. I do recommend.

I absolutely loved camping on Matt’s property! He was very kind, responsive, and informative with absolutely everything. I definitely see myself returning frequently for the beautiful views and the serene privacy. Highly recommend!! The information is not lying when they say you need a sure-footed car or something of the AWD sort, so keep that in mind when visiting!

We had a blast tent camping by the river here!! Very secluded and spacious. Our 4 year old little girl played her heart out in the river it is perfect for kids. We did some fishing and some exploring and campfire cooking, swinging in hammocks by the river it was truly awesome!! If you're looking for true tent camping, look no further than the river site!
