Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
Lovely working horse farm deep in the heart of sandhills horse country. Hummingbird hill is our cute camping spot nestled under pine trees and amongst our farm inhabitants including horses, donkeys, chickens, peacocks and an occasional cat. One or all of these may make themselves a regular presence at your site. We are located a short distance from the Walthour Moss Foundation boasting endless miles of equestrian trails. We are a short 3 mile drive to Southern Pines and a quick drive to Pinehurst. Your campsite has a 30 amp hookup and water next to a cozy single campsite with table/chairs and fire pit. Easily accessible pull in and out with lots of room to maneuver. This is a *working* horse farm which means you will see manure, bugs and dust. You may hear horses, donkeys, turkeys, chickens, dogs, cats and peacocks making the noises they enjoy making. There are tractors and mowers that may pass your site. Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome with prior approval. Paddocks with sheds available for horses for additional fee.Bring your living quarters and horses to the riding Mecca of Southern Pines. Stay on a working horse farm with room for your own horses (up to 2). Ride into 3000 acres of the Moss Foundation. Visit with our resident horses, turkeys, chickens, donkeys and dogs. Site is set away from the main house and has a table and chairs and fire pit.

Anniversary Trip 2024
24 ft travel trailer
We enjoyed our stay at Allie’s horse farm! She was a very gracious host as we got to experience life on the farm. We like that this was an active horse farm & got to interact with them! In addition to the horses, there were turkeys, peacocks, chickens, a cat, & 3 dogs (Cooper, Beatrice, & Badger) who were a part of our camp daily. Each day brought beautiful sunrises over the tall pines & peaceful quiet evenings as we sat around the campfire. This was a great place to get away to celebrate our anniversary! We look forward to coming back soon for another visit to Hummingbird Hill at Clever Covert!

Beautiful and peaceful

Allie’s horse farm is beautiful and peaceful. Allie herself was very responsive before our visit and extremely helpful when we were there as we are first time RVers. You should definitely check out this lovely piece of North Carolina horse country.

I loved camping here! It was easy to get to and set up. Water and electricity were easy to find and hook up. Ten minutes from Southern Pines, 15 from Pinehurst. Quiet and peaceful, thanks for everything!

Camping on a ranch!
24 ft Class C
This is a wonderful place to stay! Peaceful and beautiful. Surrounded by trees; greeted by turkeys, friendly dogs, peacocks (not loud), and horses! I truly enjoyed the fact that this was an active ranch, in a welcome, pleasant way. Allie was positive, helpful, and a fun host to visit with. I would stay here again, and be very happy to do so!
