This primitive Tent/RV site offers: 2-Private Acres + FREE Firewood + 8-foot Industrial Picnic Table + Little Tikes Picnic Table + Commercial-Grade Port-A-Potty + Large Garbage Can + 5-Gallon Bucket + Adirondack/Sitting Chairs + Pet Friendly! Solo travelers, families, and romantic getaway travelers: This is a very private and safe place to camp! Because we only have 1 site, you will be alone in the space the entire time. My family lives on the premises so we are here in case of an emergency. My daughter and I own this 35 acre secluded piece of heaven just minutes from Winston-Salem, Hanging Rock State Park, and other attractions. We are pet friendly (if your pet does not play well with our dog or horses, please leave them on a leash or at home). Our Shire horses are endangered and very BIG! We hope you have time to say hello to the horses during your visit.Welcome! Solo, families, & romantic getaway travelers: This is a very private and safe place to camp! Because we only have 1 site, you will be alone in the space the entire time. My family lives on the premises so we are here in case of an emergency. We own 35 acres and your campsite (The Grassy Knoll) is right in the center. Your campsite is about 2 acres. You cannot see our home from the road. When you arrive, you will pull to the front of the house and I/we will greet you and give you your paperwork and information. You will drive past the house, down the hill, and park/camp in the Grassy Knoll. You are surrounded by trees on 3 sides and a creek on the 4th side. There is plenty of room for outdoor games (soccer, corn hole, Frisbee, badminton, croquet, etc.). The creek runs next to you. The creek is not real deep so it is perfect for kids to play in. Some have strung their hammocks across the creek and napped/read listening to the sound of the water running over the rocks. Others have sat our Adirondack chairs in the creek and soaked their feet while reading their latest book or watching their kids play. There are minnows and crayfish too. The horses will be grazing across the creek from you. Our horses are Shires! The Shire horse is a draft horse and listed as the tallest horse breed in the world. They are considered endangered. Be sure to say hello to them! WATCH YOUR FEET! You visit them with your own insurance so ENJOY THE HORSES AT YOUR OWN RISK! NOTE: We close the Grassy Knoll from December 1st through April 1st to let the land rest. You can book up to one year in advance so plan ahead! Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

Great Time & Lovely Location!

We had a wonderful stay at Kohler Farms. We had the entire spot to ourselves. Firewood, table, port-a-pot were all available as listed. Our host greeted us and gave us the lay of the land. It was wonderful seeing the large draft horses roaming the fields on the other side of the creek. Just a lovely location and I would recommend to anyone.

Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

Love this place!

Dayla was quick to respond to messages! She has a large site that is very well taken care of that sits along a creek. Just across the creek is where her horses graze! We enjoyed watching them from our camper early in the morning! The stay was quiet. There was plenty of privacy. We would definitely return! Thank you for a relaxing site as we were on day 7 of travel!

Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

I had a beautiful time here. The stream by the site is a very nice touch. I was able to enjoy my privacy and still see the horses from the site. Also the porta potty was the cleanest one I've ever seen. Definitely would recommend this location and look forward to coming back to visit.

Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

Peaceful meadow

Camping at Kholer farms is always a lovely experience, rain or shine! The meadow is filled with little flowers, and the creek and horses on the other side of the trees provide a soothing backdrop. The owner’s doggos have also come by to hang out; they’re so sweet. There’s a good amount of privacy, amenities are well kept, and there’s plenty of space for camp gear, picnicing, sports, etc. It’s also just a few minutes from a gas station, Dollar General, and Hanging Rock. Highly recommend this spot for small groups or even solo camping!
