Lake Lookout is a small family campground with waterfront and water access RV and tent sites in Claremont, NC. We also have a furnished RV and furnished cabin available for short term rentals. Excellent fishing, swimming, kayaking, and boating on the Catawba River and Lookout Shoals Lake We are in the process of improving the facilities and expand the campground area. Please pardon our construction, we are in the process of bringing more amenities to Lake Lookout! Located only 7-minutes off I-40, in the Foothills of North Carolina. Stay on the water surrounded by nature but still be close to everything. 20 minutes to Hickory, 60 minutes to Charlotte, Winston Salem, or Asheville. We currently have waterfront RV and tent sites. 30 amp electric and water hookups. There is a dump station on site also, no sewer hookups due to proximity to the water. Boat ramp access on site included with rental. Extra parking area for boat trailers. Bath house. Community lake front area with shoreline access, volleyball and horseshoe pits for all campers. A short drive to River Bend Park for Hiking and biking trails.

Great place to enjoy the river, nice folks, dog friendly. One down side is the noise, wish it was a little quieter.

Camping on the River
We had a fantastic time. Camp site was conveniently located and well kept. Ms. Rebecca and family are good honest people. Spend some time with them, you won’t regret it.

Excellent location on the water!
We loved camping at Lake Lookout Campground. We have two dogs and it was super dog friendly. Beautiful location on the water. Great proximity to the Emerald Hollow Mine, which was why we chose this location. Next time I'll definitely bring my kayak.

We will absolutely be back to this little hidden gem. It was perfect in every way. Plenty of fun things to do with family and our fur babies. Owner was amazing!

Awesome!!
Stayed at site 8, it was perfect! We had plenty of room and a nice view of the river. Close to bathrooms which was a huge plus with a toddler. Love the family-owned vibe, everyone was so nice and helpful. Ice machine and fire wood was a plus! Definitely recommend and plan to come back.

Site 3 Waterfront tent fun.
My friends and i had so much fun! It was quiet and private and made some new friends with our camping neighbors 🎉. The water was so nice and the fish were biting!
