This no ordinary campground. Your experience will be as if you are exploring your own private mountain nature reserve. Aramesh is 120 acres of Blue Ridge heaven with something for every wilderness adventure seeker: unmatched mountain views, lush old growth forests, babbling brooks, and miles of trails for all skill levels. The property starts at 3700 ft altitude, with summit at 4500 ft on the Glades mountain ridge. We have only a few campsites on the vast property, so the wind in the trees and birds will be all you hear. Come and stay with us and be renewed! Campsites: They are 3/4-1/4 mile from the entrance. Some are accessible by 4WD. There may be some vigorous hiking involved, but the views are worth it. The pads are various sizes. Let us know what the needs of your party are and we can help you choose from the available spots. We also have several more remote “off-menu” sites for those seeking a backpacking adventure - ask for more information if your are interested. Hiking: There are several miles of trails on the property. They range from an easy slope to very strenuous. The entire property is fenced so you won't easily get lost. Your climbing efforts will be amply rewarded by stunning views, especially at sunset. Trail maps are available upon request. On-Site Amenities: we provide a clean porta-potty and running water that is spring fed. We ask that you follow "Leave-No-Trace" procedures during your stay. Off-Site Amenities: If you choose to explore the area : we are a 10 minute drive from I-40 Exit 24. Asheville is 45 minutes away; Waynesville is 25 minutes away. Presnell's Grocery (highly recommended, family-owned store that sells locally farmed products) is 10 minutes away from the property entrance. The Ingles supermarket in Canton is a 15 minute drive. You will find every kind of fast food in that area. There are also several excellent local dining options in Canton, Clyde, and Waynesville which we are happy to recommend to you by request.

Tai Chi Hill
We’ve camped in many different locations, and this is by far the best! The site is incredibly private, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and has everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions we had. We can’t recommend this spot enough and look forward to coming back!

Dreamy Walnut
Unforgettable Mountain View’s!
Our family of 4 spent a weekend at the Dreamy Walnut site, and had a great time! We enjoyed amazing sunsets from Lijah’s ridge just above this site and also from a clearing nearby Thai Chi hill which we will not soon forget, it was breathtaking!! The sunset/mountains were not as visible from Dreamy Walnut, as the leaves were on the trees when we went, but we felt secluded at our site, and the tent pad was level and large enough for our family tent to fit on. We had no trouble with the road up in an AWD pickup. Things to note: 1. Instructions say to be bear aware, store your food in your car or suspend it from a tree where a bear can’t reach it. For reference, the distance from Dreamy Walnut to the big barn with the water spigots where you’re supposed to park is 0.4 miles. So if this is your plan (to store food in your car) just be prepared to schlep your food 0.4 miles down to the car after dinner, and huff back up the hill, haha. 2. Access to the site is via a 20 ft steep slope. With rain or morning dew this is slick! It became a joke, we all fell at least once. There’s a slightly less inclined hill on the back side to access, but this requires more walking with your supplies. We’ll be back for sure, but may consider one of the drive-up sites next time! We all really enjoyed the summit hike, and apples growing on the property which Fara encouraged our kids to pick, and even made mountain pies with the apples one night- so good!

Tai Chi Hill
Best Camping Spot!!
Our camping experience was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the exceptional hosts! The views were breathtaking, the horses were friendly (got along great with our Great Dane), and it made for the perfect getaway. Fara even guided us to a beautiful nearby hike where we discovered wild apple trees! The Tai Chi site is about a quarter mile from the parking area, and the hosts assisted us with an ATV making everything so convenient. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend, and we will be back!

Tai Chi Hill
Spectacular spot!
We stayed at Tai chi hill for two nights for a birthday camping trip. It was my boyfriend’s first time camping. We used the ATV service to haul our stuff up and down which made the arrival and exit smooth. The walk up was very doable and was perfect for tiring our pups out after the car ride in. You don’t get views like this at any regular camp site. 10/10! We will definitely be back!
