Site 6 - Starlight Hills Campground
Gazing at the stars
We loved this camping site. We were at site 6. Really close to the view point. A short walk to the showers. The showers were unexpectedly really nice and clean. The camp site is also not a long drive from Charlotte, which is convenient for a short weekend. The only thing to be aware of is that the toilet amenities are portable potty. Otherwise, no complains! I recommend 100%!

Cute glamping tent, lovely scenery
I booked MTG 2 for one night, and i wish i had been able to stay longer. the tent was medium sized but cozy, the heater was much appreciated with the chilly fall weather. the walk to the bathroom was not too bad, and although the bathrooms are porta potties, they were clean and well maintained; this was important for me as i have a very sensitive nose and stomach. i didn’t get to book time at the spa, but i have hopes of returning. the sunset was beautiful. the tent site was relatively secluded and private. i thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Misleading photos
The site is extremely unlevel on a hill (8 degrees). It is not suited for a camper van or anyone sleeping in their vehicle - even leveling blocks won't be sufficient. The photos of the site are actually of the overlook, not the site itself. We were unable to camp in the campsite and requested a refund.
Further, we were enticed by the photos of the spa which were the main reason we chose this campground. Only upon the final step of the checkout process did we find out that the spa is $65 per hour. Only after paying and booking did we further find out that the spa hours are restricted to 12pm to 10pm.
Overall, we were deeply disappointed in the accuracy of the listings.

I felt like Maleficent!! What an extraordinary & magical All Hallow’s Eve & All Saint’s Day/Dia de Los Muertos I had!! My favorite parts were the serenades I got from the wild life @ night! Truly magical!

Great sunset views w a side of bugs
Overall, we had a great time staying at Mtg 3 apart from a couple of issues: a million and one stink bugs, and the strong smell of weed in the canvas tent left over from the folks who visited before us. The stink bug issue is obviously not the fault of the owner (who was incredibly helpful and responsive leading up to our arrival), but I feel it’s an important FYI as we had to oust maybe 20 of them from the tent and several made it home with us as stragglers in our luggage/equipment. The weed smell probably could have been helped/should have been addressed prior to our arrival, but at least the owner offered to come Febreeze once we raised the issue after arrival. Otherwise, we had a gorgeous sunset view and the campground was pleasantly very quiet after 9:30 pm or so, and the portapotty and shower amenities were a nice surprise. In sum, great trip, but if you hate stink bugs very very often flying directly into your face and body (at least during daylight hours), this place might not be for you.

Site 6 - Starlight Hills Campground
Great place to camp & enjoy nature
So let me start by saying William was a great host and the campground property is absolutely beautiful.
Definitely a great place to connect with nature in a beautiful and quiet setting.
He is doing lots of improvements to the property and it really is a fantastic place to camp.
The outdoors showers were fantastic and really clean !
The biggest drawbacks were not having a picnic table at every site makes meal prep and eating difficult, no electric power anywhere if you need it and only having port-a-pottys. (If these things aren't important to you then there are no drawbacks)
My only real complaint was the cost of the firewood bundles vs the price - while I realize it is less than what you would pay at a store it was considerably more than what I am used to paying at a campground.
Overall it is a beautiful place with a great host and the view from the community picnic area is absolutely stunning
