The Honey Hut
Staying at the Honey Hut was the perfect way to reconnect with myself after a long road trip and before a long weekend of learning. I love the simplicity of off grid living - cooking meals outside on the propane stove, not hearing the buzzing of a refrigerator or other appliance, cool showers outside, even found joy in washing dishes. I had the whole place to myself, which was a treat. There are neighbors within earshot and eyeshot at the right angles, otherwise I could’ve gone au natural the whole time! Also the raccoons kept me up one night, but that’s to be expected sometimes! Was visited by a buck, turkey mama and babies, and plenty of other birds. I would return in a heartbeat!

The Honey Hut
Love the nature setting and privacy! Instructions for how to get to the site were clear. Everything was great! Comfortable bed, well-equipped outdoor kitchen, clean outhouse. The hill to the cabin (which you have to go down to the bathroom) is pretty steep so it would be risky for someone who doesn’t have great mobility.

Camping at honey hut
The campsite is quite minimal and a great get away from the usual day to day. If you plan on using electronics bring portable chargers and socks because the lot down the hill is the only one where you can charge things. If you plan to go during the summer or spring I recommend bringing some sort of portable fan that doesn’t need to be plugged in as it got a little hot with no electricity or AC. The host, Kim, is friendly and the property is a cute little area centered around a pottery studio. Bring extra candles or lanterns as it gets very dark.

The Honey Hut
This place was so peaceful and amazing! Kim was fantastic at making us feel at home and recommending great hikes in the area! We had everything we needed with the cooking station! The solar shower was great as well! The portapotty was always clean. The view from the deck was so tranquil! We will absolutely be back! My golden retriever did not want to leave!
