Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean has been operating on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore for over 60 years! This makes Murphy’s Camping one of the longest-running campgrounds in Nova Scotia.
Our campground lands began as a coastal fishing settlement where you’ll still find a fisherman’s wharf and the old salt fish tanks from years past when schooners would load this cargo bound for the New England market. Over the years the Murphys have provided services such as schooner supply runs, rum running, moon shining, boat building, blacksmith services, farm produce, and sport fishing.
This is an extremely well appointed campgrounds with hospitable, accommodating family-run ownership and management. The location has been operated by the Murphy family for six generations. Stay with them and you will see why they’ve been a success and become a local favorite.
We spent 2 nights at Murphy's and despite thr rain and wind, we had a wonderful time! The hosts were very welcoming and checked in on us during the storm to make sure we were doing well. We look forward to returning in the future for a longer stay!
Murphys Cove is a beautiful spot and the family was helpful and accommodating. We used 2 very nice 2-person kayaks to explore some of the islands. #36 a great unit and view.
%100 I would suggest this location for a peaceful getaway! everyone there were very pleasant. We also took our dog Milo with us, and he enjoyed swimming in the lake much more. We were surprised to see less bugs, interesting animal sounds and cool crabs. Had the opportunity to gaze up at the starry, pristine sky 😊 Although we didn't have time, kayaking is absolutely something we want to do when we return! Although it was only a short walk away, we were disappointed that the fantastic view we had hoped for was not directly from our tent site.
Murphy’s campground by the ocean is my new favourite place in Nova Scotia! The sites are well maintained, staff are wonderful and ocean views are beautiful. There’s even a communal campfire every night which gives you a chance to meet other travellers! Wonderful experience.
