The Flying J Farm is 250 beautiful rolling acres including 100 acres of forest, 6-acre lake small pond, three streams, and numerous fields for crops and pastures with cows, horses and chickens. The owner bought the farm in 1998 for his retirement from a faculty position at the Ohio State university. Two buildings, the farm house and old barn, are original dating back to 1831. These have been restored for current use. The mission of the farm is to restore health both in people though the products produced and in the land by farming in a sustainable way with no conventional chemicals, antibiotics, and use of GMO. We host many visitors including tours and events. An on farm market is available to visitors for purchase of our products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and fruits and vegetables. The cabin was built using wood from the farm. It has off-grid electricity meaning it is powered by batteries charged by solar panels. There is not sufficient power for devices with a heating element such as coffee makers and hair dryers. You may charge cell phones. For any other use, please check with the owner.

WTF
Richard creeps me out. He seemed friendly at first. But I started coming and using his land alot which is a good thing you'd think. But as I showed up more the less friendly he got. People are weird .

Site 3 - Lake and Forest Camping
We loved the layout of Flying J Farms! It’s a very beautiful piece of property, very remote and hardly any sounds besides nature. We stayed in site three near the dock and 10O steps from the lake house, which we found very useful during a storm. The cabin has cold shower, a flushable toilet, kitchen sinks and seating. A nice place to hang out to stay dry and learn some history of the property through framed pictures. The lake was pretty but due to the algae we didn’t get in to kayak. There’s a lot of green but that’s okay. There is another fresh pond that we saw a family in and we took advantage of the walking paths around the property. Site 3 is out in the open so very little privacy. We didn’t have any problems except it was a little warm due to direct sun and very little shade and the bull frogs do sing quite a cadence throughout the night. We plan on coming back soon and trying a wooded site. It was a great last minute stay right outside our home town. Thanks Richard for sharing your piece of heaven.

Site 6 - Lake and Forest Camping
Fun friends + family trip!
Absolutely gorgeous property! We were able to fit two large tents on site 6 and our kids had lots of room to run around! Very private and serene site. Lots of poison ivy on the paths but that’s kind of unavoidable. Pond down the way where our kids could swim! The lake by the site was algae filled but still made for good views. We’d definitely visit again!

Site 2 - Lake and Forest Camping
Not as expected
The good- spacious sites, lake side, and a small pond fun for fishing. The bad- excessive algae build up on lake making kayaking/swimming not doable. Also lake pictures are not as pictured on the website. There was only one bathroom and shower for all campsites.
