Nathaniel and Raina Potter purchased this 30-acre ranch in 2016 and aptly named it "Big Rock Ranch." The modest ranch layout with the wildly immodest views of a giant rock outcropping jutting out of coyote butte was the immediate draw and continual wonder to Nathaniel, Raina, and all who visit. Big Rock Ranch runs cattle in the irrigated pastures and raises sheep and chickens for meat and eggs. Stay at Big Rock Ranch...Stay in a 12x14 ft canvas tent on a working regenerative family farm in the high desert. Enjoy views of a 300+ ft Tuff rock formation, Cascade Mountains, and irrigated pasture views all from the tent. Cook your own meals in the outdoor kitchen, outfitted with propane burners and a sink. Eat meals from the tent deck or the picnic table under native junipers surrounded by sagebrush, bitterbrush, and native grasses and tuff boulders. Collect farm fresh eggs and greens seasonally with the opportunity to enjoy meat raised at the ranch. One queen bed in a canvas tent, one folding cot, and access to a 2-person tent if needed to accommodate a family or two couples. Bedding is NOT supplied beyond the queen bed. Recreation Activities: Limited hiking available onsite but only 8 minutes from Smith Rock State Park for hiking and climbing. Only 25 minutes from Lake Billy Chinook for water recreating. Just 15 minutes from mountain biking at Skull Hollow. A 10-minute drive to swimming in the Deschutes River at Borden Beck Wildlife Preserve. Bend and Sisters are both 30-minutes away. Night rates are offerings to our family and ranch.

Dream Stay in Eastern Oregon!
10 stars!! 🌟 This was by far one of my favorite Hipcamp stays. We were greeted upon our arrival by Raina & her lovely family, & had so much fun hanging out with all the animals! Plenty of sights to see just around the Hipcamp site - goats, cows, horses, chickens, dogs, as well as little trails to walk! Our tent was so perfect & cozy - everything we could possibly think of needing was supplied for us! We even received fresh eggs while we were there (: The bathroom was fantastic as well - clean & cute! Would absolutely love to stay here again. Don’t forget to look up at the stars while you’re there!

High Desert Tiny Home on Farm
Absolutely Perfect
Raina was an incredible host and the location was just phenomenal! The location boasts panoramic views across Terrebonne to the west and Smith Rock to the east. The tiny home was cozy and accommodating and we loved meeting Raina's horses, dogs, goats, cows, and kiddos! We felt right at home and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy stay close to Smith Rock and Sisters!

High Desert Tiny Home on Farm
Super space and place
Super lovely tiny home, loved the whole stay and wish it were longer! Came with my 9.5 year old kiddo and he basically wanted to move here. Raina let him gather eggs aka help feed the chickens. We’ll be back!

High Desert Tiny Home on Farm
This was me and my friends first tiny home experience and it could not have gone any better! The owner was gracious enough to switch the bed to a queen from a full so we would have more room and she provided fresh eggs! The fridge was stocked well and we cooked a steak from one of their steers that was delicious. All of this made my pals birthday trip to central Oregon so special!

High Desert Canvas Tent on Farm
The yurt was so much more than we were expecting, a little oasis in the middle of a desert area. Start to finish it was hands-down the best place I've stayed at and some of the sweetest hosts you'll ever meet. From the cute and freindly farm animals to amazing views of smith rock, there's nothing I think could have been better.
