Tobias & Jyl is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Enjoy the peaceful tranquility and positive vibe of our working regenerative hemp farm and wildlife sanctuary. Hear the ocean as you drift off to sleep at your campsite in the evening. Wake up in the morning to *sunshine with birds singing in the surrounding forest. Talk story with the hosts as they tend to the plants and property maintenance throughout the day. Since 2015 we have been steadily regenerating the soils and improving this once completely barren property. We now have diverse plant life on the property which in turns attracts diverse wildlife including insects, birds (lately a pair of doves have been living here) and reptiles. Your stay here helps us to pay the bills and keep making this small patch of earth better. Our property sits on a sunny bench just back from the ocean and just above the fog line. Our south facing location gets ample sunshine most days and is surrounded on 3 sides by a forest of trees. The property is fenced and access is by gate. There are two seperate campsites which are separated by our central garden and bamboo plantings. Each campsite is limited to two people maximum for a total of four guests on the property at any time. On most days the maximum number of workers on the farm is two people (your hosts). This is a low traffic area. There is virtually no street traffic before 9 AM and none after 4 PM Mon-Sat and there is no traffic at all on Sundays. Site 1 aka Bamboo Camp is perfect for your van, truck, car or tent. Site 2 aka Freedom Camp is reserved exclusively for tents or bivvy bags. Both camp sites can use the contracted portable toilet located on the property. We keep it clean and odor free for a safe and sanitary camping experience. Hand sanitizer is also provided. Bring your bikes, boards and/or other outdoor gear! Many adventures can be had here on the central coast. Your hosts are avid surfers and cyclists and can help direct you to the best spots to match your skill level. Our property is close to town as well as road bike loops, gravel roads and mountain bike trails. We're also close to the beach and that's how we like it. Within 15 - 45 minutes drive surfers of all levels can find something fun to ride nearly everyday of summer and fall. The 18 hole golf course is just down the street from the property and the town of Waldport is only 2 miles away. Yachats is a short 12 minute drive to the south where you can find amazing plant based food and they serve fresh roasted coffee along with a large menu of other drinks and treats at The Green Salmon Cafe. Miles of white sand beaches are located just down the hill from us where you can walk all the way from the mouth of the Alsea river to the mouth of the Yachats river. Forested and easily accessible walking trails are also nearby. South of the property is Cape Perpetua which is a 2,700 acre nature wonderland with whales, tide pools and blowholes. It is located in the Siuslaw National Forest and includes a 26 mile trail system. Relax and enjoy the scenic 15 mile drive from the farm to get there. The Waldport city skatepark and the Red River disc golf course are just 1.2 miles from the property. There is a brand new skatepark in Yachats just 7 miles away. Restaurants, cafes, a bakery and bars as well as shopping, banking and even an open air market (on Wednesdays) can be found in downtown Waldport which is a short 2 miles from your campsite. We have some items such as bikes, surfboards, skateboards and more options available for rental (options will be shown when you book your site). Surf lessons for beginner and intermediate level are available. Guided surf sessions for intermediate and advanced level are available. Bring your Electric Vehicle! There are charging stations close by in Yachats and Newport. Our farm is licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. (*sunshine not guaranteed)

Site 2 - Freedom Camp
It was an unique place to camp. Tobias was very nice and helpful. I camped at Freedom Camp on the opposite side of the Porta pody. I can see if there's people around that larger camp near the Porta pody, it would be challenging for the other campers to go use it since it's so close to that campsite. It might be better if it was away from both campsites. It wasn't super private, but we got to know the other camper and he was really chill. It was cool to see hemp in a setting like that. It was a great place for star gazing on a clear night. I would stay here again!

Quick beach access - Great host!
We had an excellent stay at Tobias & Jyl's Bamboo site 1. His property is an easy 6min. drive to many miles of beach access . The property is peaceful, safe and secure with plenty of space for our van and large tent. We could hear the roar of the ocean in the distance and had nice star viewing at night. Tobias was a warm and friendly host with interesting stories. This was our first Hip Camp experience and it was terrific! We'll definitely do it again. I highly recommend this property for a great Oregon Coast stay. ENJOY!

Waldport Camping
This was a perfect “pit stop” on our Oregon coast travels. We will definitely add it to our places to stay. It’s very close to a nice little disc golf course, beach and food. Tobias was very nice and enjoyed chatting with him.
