This is a 2 bedroom 2 bath mountain cabin on the side of Mt. Joseph 2 miles outside of Joseph Oregon, at 5200 foot elevation with a beautiful view to the north and east. The cabin was built about 20 years ago, and is still being improved upon, but it is very sturdy and insulated, so stays cool on hot days, warm on cold days There is a wood stove for heat. There is electricity for lights, a microwave, a queen bed and a bunk bed with 2 twin mattresses. There are 2 bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks. Water is spring water, cold and delicious, from a source nearby on the mountain. There is no shower or hot water. Please bring your own sleeping bags/bedding, and camp stove. Please don’t use your propane/gas stove inside the cabin due to trapped fumes. This is a lovely unique spot and we hope to keep it that way, so please clean up after yourselves and pack all trash out with you. Cabin is at the end of a short lane so is very private, quiet, and peaceful. It is backed by 10 acres of woods and the area is unfenced and people hike all around the area on trails and gravel roads. Beloved natural Wallowa lake is a short drive, or long walk, away.Discover our 10-acre haven, complete with a cozy cabin perched on the shoulder of Mt Joseph. Embrace the vastness of nature and set up your tent amidst the tranquil forest. From the cabin, you'll relish in distant vistas of Wallowa Lake moraines, Zumwalt Prairie, and the majestic 7 Devils Mountains to the east. A quaint gem, Joseph, along with Wallowa Lake and Eagle Cap Wilderness trails, is just a stone's throw away. The cabin, an off-grid retreat, offers spring water, propane appliances, and snug sleeping quarters – a queen-sized bed in one room and a bunk bed in another. Warm up with the woodstove, supplied wit firewood. Revel in the ultimate privacy of our haven, a true sanctuary for your peaceful escape.

Such peace and
Shawn’s cabin was such a delightful experience! The cabin was even more amazing than we’d anticipated, given how spacious, thoughtfully, and inspiringly decorated it was. The presence of those who came before us was prominent, providing a humble and thoughtful understanding of the traumas faced by the First Peoples of the land. It is clear that Shawn’s cabin is a place of love and respect, and as such we treated it so. I hope you find similar treasure and treat it equally or more so.

Eagle Cap Acres Cabin
Very cozy and quiet place atop of a dead end road. The house had all the amenities we needed, and nothing that we didn’t need. The bed was pretty squeaky but aside from that, super enjoyable place to stay, and close enough to town and all the great hiking in Joseph. I’d stay here again

Perfect rustic getaway
TLDR Version - Amazing and exactly what we were looking for. This will be my go to spot whenever staying in the Wallowas. Beautiful cabin at the top of a long gravel road. Located about 10-15 minutes from Wallowa Lake and Joseph. No neighbors, very private. This is HipCamp, not VRBO. If you prepare like you're camping, you'll have an amazing time - all the amenities are bonus. There's a stove, a fridge and delicious cold running water. The cabin is clean and very comfortable. Bed and furniture were comfortable and the art tastefully done. When looking for a place to stay in the area during a busy 4th of July weekend, the options were a condo or this cabin. I like to get away from people and this was the perfect choice. I'm already planning my next visit...
