When you visit our little "piece" on Earth we hope you feel the "peace" we do. After spending many years living in the city, we found a place where we feel the calm and solitude we've been wanting and needing for a long time. Now, we want to share it with you. A 10-acre "piece" of "peace" on Earth. Come join us for a day or two. Settled on a secluded hillside in a rural valley near the Columbia River, Fern Hill Cabin is a perfect getaway. Surround yourself with 10 acres of forest and trails. Relax in a hammock on the hillside. Let nature and quiet soothe your weary mind. Wander trails in our woods. Watch the stars by firelight (in season). Melt into the comfortable queen bed for a rejuvenating night’s sleep. There are also several restaurants five miles away in Rainier, OR. Weddings/events are also welcome (contact us for photos of the barn venue and bar).
Peace on Earth offered the relaxation I craved on my solo weekend getaway. Brian was a friendly host who texted to check in when I was getting close to arriving; he was waiting for me when I arrived. He carefully showed me around the cabin he'd built and made sure I felt at home. It's clear that a lot of care went into crafting this beautiful wood cabin. The bed alcove, surrounded by windows with views of trees, offered an ideal place to journal or read. I wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you!
This was a perfect change of pace from city life! Great balance of amenities in the cabin versus solitude of the woods. The host was super nice and made sure I knew how everything worked before leaving me alone for the weekend. My dog also had such a happy time running around the property and relaxing in the cabin. I highly recommend this spot!
The space was quiet and cozy, I was really happy with the dishes and utensils provided. I was able to make posole from scratch on just the provided dishes (it was delicious!). The shower was GREAT, the incinerating toilet was a fun novelty, super simple to use. I was nervous about it but it was one of the better “off grid” bathroom solutions I’ve used. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I just felt totally at peace not to mention the privacy provided by the hosts was just really much needed.
We will be coming back!
Another wonderful stay. I’m looking forward to returning again.
