Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, a yurt, and one group camping site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

10/10 Would recommend!
This was our 3rd or 4th visit. We brought a group of 7 small trailers and rented 4 sites. There was plenty of room for all of us and the property is beautiful, well kept, and very private. The host (Tim) is so easy to work with and very accommodating and friendly. We love this place and will continue to come back!

An Amazing Spot!
We loved camping here! It was so peaceful and private. I admit the hill at the entrance to the camping area took me back a bit but we made it and I am so glad we did. This area sits at the back end of a 12 hole golf course. It's as if the last six holes were earmarked for camping instead. Very secluded. I saw a herd of elk cross the golf course one evening. What an amazing property. So close to 3 State Parks (Sunset Bay, Shore Acres and Cape Arago). Hiking from one end to the other end of the parks was incredible. Shore Acres was a complete surprise and we went back the next day. This was my first Hip Camp excursion and we will definitely be back (with our golf clubs - the course is beautiful). Note: We have a Lance 1475 travel trailer and did not have a problem getting there but would feel more comfortable with a lift kit.

We drove in past what looked like abandoned containers and tree debris. No welcome signs or signage anywhere. We went by a dwelling with some chickens outside and perhaps the showerng facility looked like an outhouse. Came to big empty field with picnic table and lone yurt. Host neglected to tell us to bring own linens. Portapotties a good distance from anything. No one around at all. Did not feel safe or prepared for experience. We left and found other sleeping arrangements. Nice area for primitive camping and people who want isolation. I was looking for a yurt experience but wàs totally unprepared for what we found Had emailed host earlier with questions with no response
