Stonehedge Gardens and Holistic Learning Center is a beautiful, landscaped 20-acre sanctuary with walking trails, ponds, a creek and perennial gardens located in Tamaqua, in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Also onsite are many amenities, including a community kitchen, firepits, local artisan gift shop, and pottery studio. Hike right from Stonehedge into the town of Tamaqua (less than 3 miles) on a designated Rail Trail to find the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, Stokers Brewery, and several restaurant options. Local hiking trails include: * Schuylkill Valley Heritage Trail (7.3 miles) - less than 15 min. drive * Switchback Railroad Trail (18 miles) less than 20 min. drive for a 9 mile descent into Jim Thorpe * Owl Creek Reservoir (2 mi.) less than 15 min. drive boating, fishing, hiking We are also close to: * Jim Thorpe (25 min.) * Hawk Mountain Sanctuary (20 min.) * Blue Mountain Ski Resort (40 min.) Very nice camping spot. Nice to have a kitchen and bathroom. Host was very helpful.

Wonderful and friendly hosts, absolutely gorgeous property, and peaceful landscape! Some poison ivy around marked with flags, mostly easy to avoid. Would def visit again!

Awesome experience
Highly recommended! We stay there for 2 nights, and it was really great! Tom is so attentive, the area is super clean and we felt comfortable at all.

Beautiful stone work
My daughter and I loved our visit to Stonehenge Gardens. We went for a lovely canoe ride on the pond and enjoyed the stone artwork throughout the grounds. Our host, Tom, was gracious and helpful.

Camping in Tamaqua...
Tom has a lovely piece of land, quiet, accessible. He himself is a charming host. The property has a new age vibe. Shower is outdoor, but the water is hot. Water is well and delicious. Toilets are job-johns but clean and not stinky. There's a kitchen if you're cooking--I was just over-nighting, so didn't use. A great central location to explore PA coal mining history. And I hear they have a Burning Man in the area around Memorial Day! (The planners were staying here at the same time I was.)
