The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation. Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family. Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today. Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.
Great site! This is my first hipcamp experience and the site is clean and spacious. I was a little worried about the dirt road coming in because my prius sits low, but it's a short drive to the site and I went slow and didn't have an issue. I only stayed one night, but it felt very safe as a solo camper.
The total trip was better than we could have imagined! Belinda and Tony were amazing host. They really made us feel at home and the tour of their farm was a major bonus! We are currently building our homestead and camping on their land was both inspiring and educational. We would highly recommend Morning Glory Farms to anyone looking for a camping experience with excellent hosts in and area rich in history. Thank you Belinda and Tony!!
Honestly that was exactly what I was looking for. Met Tony and was a super nice guy, the location was a good size surrounded by woods. Was right off of the road but still felt pretty private. My wife and I will absolutely come back and would recommend.
