Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo.  Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year. Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm. We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods. There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators.  Fishing and crabbing are available on the salt water creek next to the campsite as well. We look forward to hosting you!

Beautiful spot!
Linda was kind enough to let us switch weekends because my friend was sick. We had the whole place to ourselves on the first night and it was so peaceful and beautiful! We slept right along the salt water creek surrounded by trees. The campsites were clean and level. There were plenty of good hammock spots! Wood was stocked by the outhouse to purchase. We even got visited by some of the cute donkeys and cows! We felt very safe and will definitely be back.

Family Camping Trip Success!
We loved our stay at the campground. It was my daughter’s first camping trip, and everything went smoothly! The views are amazing. Although it was busy and you will have neighbors, it still felt secluded and comfortable enough to enjoy. There were some louder groups into the night, but it didn’t bother us. My daughter loved visiting the playground and petting zoo, and exploring the land. The animals (cows and donkeys) run loose in the land, but it made it so fun! We had two donkey visitors early morning on our last day. So sweet! There seemed to be some issues with the firewood situation, so make sure to reserve your in advance and pay ahead, use the honest box. All was great! We will be back!

It was a nice site, as advertised. The proximity to downtown wasn’t bad at all if you wanted to be a tourist for a day. The farm, pumpkin patch, and playground field for the kids looked like it’d be a great place for the kids to run around (didn’t have my kids on this trip, so I don’t know if there’d be an additional charge or not). Folly Beach is always a great spot to unwind and only twenty minutes or so away. I was very much appreciative that I was allowed to check-in early. That was very cool of the hosts, as I needed to set and head right back into the city. Thank you for the pleasant stay.

Peaceful, beautiful place!
This place is really nice. There are a bunch of sites all clustered together but not too close. Plenty of fire wood available. We did have privacy and loved the views. We also took a walk in the pasture on the farm which was nice. I loved the hooting owls in the morning & the sunset/sunrise views. Perfect place for a weekend get away! We Loved our stay.

Returned again. Love this place! Unfortunately some campers moved their fire pit and picnic tables to other parts that were not a designated campsites and were playing some loud music. But overall they were mostly calm and has no bearing on Hanscombe point This is just me saying please respect the campsites as we all love to visit these places and want to enjoy the quiet and peaceful surroundings. But this place always gets top rating from me.
