And approximately 5 miles from a natural sliding rock creek in Long Shoals Roadside Park, which is on the other side of Nine Times Nature Preserve.
Also there a state park about 10 miles away, Table Rock, which has a swimming area and a nice hiking trail which goes to the peak of the mountain where there is a huge rock, hence the name.
And not too far past the sliding rock, there is the Keowee Toxaway, which is nice to visit, and yes it is a nuclear plant but it explains well the dangers and safety precautions, as it practically provides power for the upstate of South Carolina.
