This ranch is the home of children's book author Cowgirl Annie. This site is in an abandoned gravel pit so you will be parking on a sandy gravel base. There are cottonwood stands close by that you can hike through to the river. A wide variety of wildlife live in this area, so no telling what you may see or hear. You will have a big area to yourselves. I have tried to plan areas so you won't be disturbed by other campers. Wall Drug and the Badlands National Park are about a twenty-minute drive. You will be camping in an old gravel pit that provides a gravel base so mud will not be an issue. Cottonwood trees are plentiful. and the river is within a short hiking distance. Some wildlife and birds reside in the gravel pit area. You can explore the property at will. The river has Catfish if you want to fish. This ranch is the home of children's book author, Cowgirl Annie. It was also used to film two movies about the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

The gravel pit is a great, convenient, quiet, and beautiful spot to camp. The directions sent over after booking were easy to follow, even in the dark. Definitely will be keeping it in mind for future trips through the area!

The site was close to the freeway. The host was unable to greet us upon arrival but kindly gave accurate and easy to follow directions via text message. I camped in my teardrop trailer with my aunt and dog. We had a lovely evening on the property walking the dog and enjoying the solitude. We were the only people camping on a warm fall evening. Finding a level spot to park was easy to navigate. The stars were glorious. The host visited us just as it was getting dark to be sure we were settled in. She was very kind and thoughtful. We were on a cross country road trip and planned for one night stays using the road trip feature on HipCamp. The site is pretty close to the scenic loop of Badlands National Park. I recommend this site!

Easy to find but we arrived late and left very early, so not enough time to give a full review.
