Camping in Solitude With a View
Came back to this spot after loving it 3 years ago and still loved it! Brought our teardrop camper this time. The Wilderness is so peaceful and perfect for camping in solitude! Great location for a base camp in the Black Hills area, and lots of land to hike around and explore on the property. Views are also spectacular!

Great off-grid camping
As described this is a get-away and off the grid experience. Wonderful views and very private.
There are several spots to camp. The upper ones are the best for views but do require a vehicle with moderate ground clearance and 4WD to get to. My 4WD sprinter had not problem.
No cell service via ATT.
Will go back!

Great experience +our advice
Beautiful, rugged piece of property! Definitely would recommend, and return.
Great space to explore for kids.
Remote. Feels like the wilderness, with car access.
Our family enjoyed our stay immensely.
1. Bugs were great end of May; just a few black flies and a random mosquito.
2. Sad to not be able to have fires (as someone who usually cooks over the fire and loves them). But, worth it. Just bring a propane grill. The views and the land are worth it!
3. Definitely need 4x4, 4 wheel drive, etc to get back to the farther spots on the driveway.
4. Potable water “nearby” can be found at the George Mickelson trailhead in Rochford.
5. No cell service for a while I’m every direction! Have your map ready before you hit dirt roads.

Stunning views and very secluded
The campsite was very beautiful and very secluded. The property was massive so it was nice to explore. Me and my friends loved the stay there. The views are absolutely breathtaking. I give it a 10/10
