Ready Set Camp
My best sleep so far...
I had one of the best night's sleep of my (so far) 3 week road trip! The tent I rented was well worth the small cost. I really enjoyed my conversations with Brian. He is a great host and very accommodating.

Very hospitable host. Greeted us upon arrival. Campsite was very easily accessible. It was a great place for the kids to roam and explore. They loved seeing all the animals. It was a peaceful and quiet place! We would definitely stay here again!

Uncle B's Farm
Best Hipcamp in South Dakota!
This was a great place to tent camp! Uncle B was very accommodating when we arrived late because of traffic. He also moved us from the tent sites to an open RV site because it has recently rained and the tent sites were soggy -- a very welcome switch, especially because we were able to use the running water to fill up for backcountry the next night.
The real highlight is the showers and bathrooms. I barely believed the listing photos, but they're real -- clean, smell amazing, have hot water and flush toilets and hotel soaps. A hot shower after 3 days of camping makes you feel brand new.
The location itself is very nice -- you're camping on a farm, so expect animals around (this was a plus for us! We saw lots of cute puppies and kittens, and turkey, peacocks, and chickens. From a distance, too, so they didn't come right up to the tent or anything. ) There is a general quirky, singular vibe, from the license plate wall to the signature corner, that made us feel right at home.
A couple things to know before you go: you'll drive on a gravel road to get there, so a 4wd vehicle would be very useful in the rain! Also, the campsites aren't exactly secluded; you're right next to everyone else on a farm field, but we didn't mind since everyone else was nice. The tent sites also looked a little more screened off from one another. Finally, the host is amazing! He gave us smores to welcome us and was consistently wonderful. I think Uncle B's truly lives up to "Best Hipcamp in SD"!
